I am guessing (hoping) that English isn't your first language.

Flash suppressors are bad

Muzzle brakes are good.
Here is a list of good brakes;

No English is my first language. I'm using my iPhone to post and the autocorrect sucks. I know flash hiders are a no no

Ugh I hate autocorrect! haha

On top of what was listed on that site, Troy makes some decent brakes as well for the price. Just depends on what your primary use is for the rifle.

Edit:

For featureless you can't legally have a flash hider. Just throwing that out there if you didn't know.

The claymore looks bad *** any experience with it

I have only had experience with it's "less expensive cousin" The DPMS Levang:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/524840/dpms-muzzle-brake-levang-linear-1-2-28-thread-ar-15-steel-matte

If overall you just want faster follow up shots, there are better brakes out there that can control recoil better. I got mine because the Levang (and Claymore) focus pretty much all concussion and sound forward. My rifle is primarily for home defense. So, if used indoors (like a hallway) you won't go completely deaf. There is no felt concussion and the sound is louder, but directed forward...not to the sides and upwards bouncing right back at you.

It also helps with the recoil a little better than the standard A2 flash hider. Again, there are others out there that do a better job at this.

Here is a decent vid of the Claymore and Levang compared on a AR Pistol. Overall consensus is that the Claymore provides softer recoil:

Also, the levang has no spot to wrench on. I used a flat, thin rubber pad that I've had for years that is a jar opener and a channel-lock wrench. Comes with no crush washer (cheap to get). And was under $40 shipped. The Claymore is pretty much the same thing, with a slightly softer felt recoil.

For a premium brake: Go for the surefire IMO if all you are looking to do is almost eliminate muzzle rise/recoil:

What type of shooting are you going to be doing with it? How worried about increased sound/side blast are you? Weight/length an issue? There are a ton of brakes out there and more info would help narrow it down for you. For a pistol I would definitely not go with the PWS TTO (though a good brake and one I own), but something more like the Claymore as mentioned above.

Am I missing something, didn't think you could go featureless on an AR pistol in CA. The original post needs some editing, building an AR pistol (firearm 1) but want to go featureless with your rifle (firearm 2)?

I like my PWS 556, but that is unfortunately considered a flash suppressor, so no go on the featureless build, have not tried the PWS TTO.

Just shot my newly built featureless this weekend. I'm using a Surefire MB556. Works just as well as a Battlecomp, the first thing the guy next to me said was ..."man that thing is loud, not only did I hear it, I felt it."

No Im building a pistol and want to change my rifle to feature less. I know the op is confusing its from my phone and it decided to make me sound like a third world immigrant. My use will mostly be target shooting out doors I don't care about noise or anything of that nature. I just think that a brake/comp will look better than a thread protector

I'm running two PWS (556 & 308) and they do a good job of stopping muzzle rise. The 556 is also VERY loud for fellow shooters down the line.

I'm also running a Troy Claymore... sends all the sound downrange (noticably bouncing off/back of hills 400yds away on the range). That's kinda cool, and for a SBR/pistol upper, would probably be useful to send all that flash forward as well. Therefore, I vote Troy Claymore.

I went with the YHM 5M

it was cheap, looks cool, and I like how their advertisement is very direct that this product is not a flash hider.

just be careful of your legs
