So I get home the other day and find this bin waiting for me. Its about 1/3 full and probably weighs close to 75lbs. The brass came from a M249 that was used as a promotional stunt and she grabbed the brass and brought it home. A lot of it is pretty beat up but can still be sold for scrap, etc...however all of the links from the belt are still in there. What's cool is that it looks like they used the bin as a brass catcher...you can see where the brass was hitting the bin.

Bent/dinged necks will be taken care of with the sizing die- if they dumped brass straight into the bin, I bet most of it will be just fine. It's stomping on it later which really ruins it :)

Ad Agency...she asked that I do not disclose where or what the stunt was...but it was to promote a new product. Pretty cool, wish I could have been there to witness, definitely not something that they do on a regular basis.

Those aren't blanks in that bin.
Where do people make up this kind of stuff from?

Lifeon2whls
07-21-2012, 7:31 AM
Definitely not blanks. The stunt was to use the M249 to shoot up some stuff.

Although the brass went straight into the bin, it's amazing how bad a lot of those shells are. You get some idea of it from the picture but there are a lot where the neck is cracked or looks like it blew apart. From what I read brass in this condition is not uncommon from a M249. The cool thing is that all of the links seem to be in good condition.

Very nice OP. Put a ring/belt link on it. The best I've had is a gf helped me load stripper clips and would shoot .22s with me, other than that, most of them didn't like guns. :( Still searching for my Libertarian, Gun-totin' model... Sigh...

In the works...been 7 yrs so its on the horizon.

She was a hard core dem when we met but has become much more of a Libertarian and I've softened my conservative views a bit. I think when someone realizes you don't have an agenda, they are much more attentive and willing to listen to reason. Its also easier to say to your partner..."Yes, guns are fun" and know they wont judge you regardless of your political beliefs than your dem friends who are going to shun and badger you.
