Bought mine from riflegear as well, in OD to match the rest of my furniture...

Though I just bought two CAL15-BS from JTROKS... They are sweet and he is a top notch vendor too (in fact quicker than riflegear.. No offense)

Rad locks are NOT "Bullet Buttons". Rad locks are "Rad Locks". Both Rad and D Prince developed their own magazine locks and both should be properly recognized for their work. There is only ONE manufacturer of "Bullet Buttons". Just like there is only one manufacturer of "Rad Locks". Confusing the two doesn't give either member the recognition he has earned and deserves.

Am I missing something. According to Raddlock, there product is not CA DOJ approved. That's what it says on riflegear. How is it legal to use this product?

It looks almost the same as the one from here: http://www.goldenstatetactical.com/bubucobne.html
Does the one from Vamfire have the 3 setting, Bullet Button, Traditional Mag release and a top loading Fixed Mag?

correct, CADOJ does not currenly "approve" any of the various magazine locks or other compliance products that are available on the market. However, vendors like Assault Planet and Raddlock read the lettering of the law, regulations, and case law to self-determine (along iwth their lawyers) if a product is legal. They have asked CADOJ for rulings in the past, but CADOJ refuses.

I hate to say this, but I have tried few different BBs, including Raddlock and they all do the same thing, prevent the magazine from disengaging when pressed, yes we all hate it. I really didn't notice the difference in performance when used with a bullet, pen, screwdriver, etc. Sure the Raddlock looks cool, comes in different colors, but if you're gonna go out of state to shoot, take a minute (literally) and put in the mag release that came with LPK, switch back before reentering CA. So I would just buy the least expensive one.

I agree this is the best deal running right now. You kill two birds with one stone by purchasing your bullet button and taking a stand against SB249.

The Vamfire MLD has two settings, tool operated and traditional.

Now the FreeLock tool gives you the ability to turn a standard Assault Planet Bullet Button into a top loading mag lock. You just simply screw the BB center all the way down. Link below.

I haven't been happy with any of them. The original bullet button requires changing out for use out of state, the radlock can back itself out an the vamfires magazine release can unscrew when in "free state mode". I locktited the vamfire and that seems to work the best. I do like that the radlock doesn't need the tiny hex head that the vamfire requires and instead takes any small flat head screw driver.

i have used several of these "mechanisms" and have to agree with the member that stated they are all the same..for the most part anyways. basically they all do the same thing but some use an allen, flat driver, etc for removal or to adjust accordingly. so imo just purchase the cheapest one which is about $20 and your good to go. as another member here also said, just swap one in for the other and your good to go no questions asked.

I vote for the Prince50 BB. I know Darin Prince personally, he's a great guy and stands behind his products.

And he opened a local gun store down in Oceanside.

As far as the AR mag buttons go, they all work pretty much the same. I would avoid the multi mode units- if one of the screws backs out you could be in violation of the law.

For HK mag buttons, the Prince50 stands above the rest- just a free plug for a friend :)
