Anyone talk to Curtis lately about the next batch or maybe some one knows a place that has them in stock (or is willing to part with a flat)? Kicking the idea around about building a RPK.

ordered and received two a couple weeks back, didn't know they were in that short of supply, if I had an extra I'd sell you one for my cost, sadly no extra

I signed up for the notification thing for one of the rpk flats a week or so ago. Let me know what you hear from Curtis. I need to get started on my build but I'm not in a big hurry. May just end up buying a Nodak NDS-7.

Any new news on the flats? I'm ready to finish mine. Got the barrel headspaced and pinned and all of the parts populated. Just need a flat so I can put it all together.

I just called Curtis --- no idea when he will get them in... 2-4 weeks was the only thing he'd 1/2 way guess.

Is AK-Builder the only place that ever has them?

These flats seem to be a regularly produced item because I've bought one at two different times and seen the stock at zero a few times.

No, my flats aren't for sale unless you find the guy that stole one out of my truck.

Well I got a just under 2 months left to find a few, I'm in Afghan right now and looking at building my RPK as soon as I get back. Anyone got any kits they wanna part with. I have a couple of friends that are looking at getting into building.

Sorry, I read that wrong. I was thinking regular Romy flats. Haven't seen RPKs in a while.

He's still got the bulgarian rpk flats in stock. All you have to do is open up the magwell and you're good 2 go.

That would work, but eh lower rails are different. The 7.62 1.5mm flats use a PSL style bump instead of a full on lower rail that needs to be trimmed. The 5.45 1.5mm flats come with the standard rails.

All 12 of my Romy RPK Flats are gone now. :D

Ahh, but you are mistaken sir.;) I happen to have one of the bulgy rpk-74 flats in my "sh*t I'll get to in a while" pile. They have the correct rails. The only difference is the magwell opening. Thanks to 69Mach1 for the tip.

I won't bother photographing my several bulgy RPK kits/rails to contradict. Tom and I spoke about this about 2 months ago. It seems he sends out a mish-mash of stuff when he gets low. I get crimped ejector rails in half of my 7.62 flats, and I order dozens every month.

So if they are the "correct" rails for use on 7.62 magwell, are they "correct" for a 5.45 still? LOL

You have barcodes on your flat package. You must have bought that within the last 4 months.

Curtis (AK Builder) may be running into inventory issues and time constraints. LOL

We Californians are keeping him busy.

Yesterday, we had a build party for 8 Marines from Pendleton, and two Romy RPK builds were done. Another Marine had a Curtis parts kit that had been populated and headspaced, but none of the pin holes, including the barrel pin, was drilled. No gas port either.

We took care of him though.

I'm glad you took care of those Marines. I sure felt bad telling them "no house calls" with my busy schedule.

I was honored to be there and have/ take a personal approach with that specific case.

I'd dedicate a lot of time with that " ready to build kit".

The worst POS that I've ever seen in my entire life. But at the end of the day everything was fine.

Can't deny the fact that at one point I'd asked 69Mach1,Caiman and Wtsgdygtbr to look away so I can perform my Magic....... Yup. it was that drastic.

Curtis... Curtis, I know you are reading....please PM if you would, care or dare...

Thank you.

I'm glad that BP went well. Thank you guys for helping these honorable service men engage in their 2A rights that they fight for.

Also, thank you for all your knowledge and assistance you bestowed on me. The shoot went well and the RPK'S looked great.
