Just went by my local Walmart on Murphy Canyone Rd. in San Diego and noticed the .45 ammo now costs $18.97 a box. Has anyone else seen this yet?

.44 Mag up to nearly 38/box. I'm now reloading these. I can't afford to shoot these large calibers without the cost savings of reloading.

In the last month the Federal .45ACP has gone from $15.97 to $17.97 to $18.97. I wonder if they're done now or if it will keep going up?

It will keep going. If it's not the uncertain political climate then it's just plain old inflation.

Haven't you noticed that everything else you buy has been going up too? Food and gas certainly have. You'll never see $3 gas again, and after next year you'll be happy if it stays at $4 for a while.

It's inflation , I remember when I was a kid a combo meal at McDonalds was $3.75 and now they are about $6.75! With out talking politics thats what happens when we weaken the value of our dollar.

Just bought two 100 round bulk packs of 9mm - up $2.50/box at my local Walmart.

As a side note, one of the boxes opened up in the trunk on my way home. I had to take everything out of the trunk (including the liner and spare tire) to find every round. Plus, I got to count all of the rounds I had collected 2 or 3 times to make sure I'd found them all. Amazing how they managed to roll down into so many nooks and crannies. Not how I expected to spend 45 minutes last night.

I remember that... $3.25 for a big mac, fries, and coke. $20.00 for a full tank of gas. I miss those days... :(

I take it they don't do a lot of ROLLBACKS on ammo...

Federal ammo at Walmart "was" cheaper than the Winchester ammo there. Now it looks like WWB value packs is the cheap stuff on the Wally shelf. Federal ammo prices defiantly bumped up a bit.....

$18.97? I just got Federal last month and thought it was $16.95 a box if I remember.

At that price a simple reload press will save you alot of money in no time at all.

I know how you feel! When I was a kid.....they had adds on tv...A bigmac, and a coke, and fries.....and change back from your dollar!

If I did not reload, I could not afford to shoot.

To all of the people who laughed at me for stocking up for the last 10 years.
All I got to say is....ha ha ha!

Take care

Walmart has $0.33 a round .45 ACP fmj ammo, no more. Now it's like $0.41 a round. Thanks for nothing, Wally World!

I asked the manager of sporting goods - all ammo boxes went up $2.

He said he was told by WW that they plan to be the lowest price for ammo, but the price increase was just in keeping with existing prices...

BTW - 9mm went from $9.97/10.97 to $11.97, 45 went from $15.96 to $17.97

They are still cheapest by far, unless you are reloading....
