I did a some searching before posting this, so sorry if it's a dupe. I've always had to fight with my MAK-90 to get the mags to seat properly. I know they don't seat straight in like an AR mag, you have to rock them front to back, but it seems like I have to use a lot of force. I'd be in real trouble if for any reason I actually had to use it and change mags with any sort of speed. I've looked closely at the mechanism, mag release, front mag catch and don't see anything that should be causing this issue, but I'm no gunsmith either. Any suggestions?

Better to just file down the back part of the mag then alter the firearm.

yup...take off the top cover and remove the bolt/carrier so you can see from the inside if anything is hitting. mod the mag to fit

You might try a few different mags. If they all bind at the same place, then i would modify the gun.

Look for contact at your center support, trunnion, rails and rivets.

If it only one or two mags Id mod them. If its any and all mags I'd mod the gun.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I'll report back with my findings.
