This should probably be in the gallery forum but I thought it was appropriate to post here. Without the help and advise from you fine people in the gun smithing section and the extra time and effort Roccobro spent with me to tackle these two beasts I dont know if I would have been able to finish.

Top is an AK-102 clone that still needs the HG retainer cut which ill finish up tomorrow. Bottom is an AK-104 clone that needs the folder latch drilled and hardware installed. Both need to be well cleaned lol.

Anyways, another big thank you to all the people who helped me out with answering questions pressing off my FSB (SVT-40 and Roccobro) and final assy (Roccobro, 69Mach1 and Caiman). I have a thread going on the 102 and will update with lots of photos and a play by play tomorrow for those who were involved with it.

Nice job! An AK100 clone build is on my short list...What type of kits did you build these on?

Kydex grip wraps...Makes the rifle featureless so you don't need a bullet button

Both are K Var barrel assy's. The 102 is on a Nodak NDS-2SF receiver and the 104 is on an AK-Builder Khyber pass flat. The rest of the parts were sourced from various places. No kits, just pieced together.

Nice.
Dont you have when you put it all together, only to find out you forgot to push down the HG retainer lever before you put the gas tube on....:D

Thanks Mach

Yes I was thinking of just cutting down standard length rods just for show. Does anyone sell the 100 series rods?

you should be able to thread the end and it will be functional and not just show

Is the length 12" or 12.5". Off hand do you know the thread type. I can cut the threads at work.

The only problem may be me running a 16" barrel and the FSB design is set up for a 12" rod. Wouldnt that make it either 4" too short to be usabe or 4" too long to look correct?
