Is this upper legal to mount on my OLL? SP6920 Upper Assembly Kit see. http://www.coltsmfg.com/ShopOnline/tabid/62/ProdID/301/Default.aspx

I tried search but did not see exact answer. Even if legal is it a bit of a red flag not worth hassle?

Thanks

only some Colt lowers are banned by name. The Sporter name must be on the lower for a Colt to be banned.

uppers and every other part of a Colt SP is legal.

You will have to get Colt to understand that I think. They may cancel the order when they see a California address.

The Colt upper is good to go... The only thing to be worried about is Colt's lower receiver and roll mark that is stamped.

From another thread I read it appears that the "Law Enforcement" LE-6940 may have been discontinued and will be replaced by SP6940. Unknown as to why the change???

I really hope that Colt will not produce rifles in such that "SP6940" = Sporters Series, then we definitely can't get the 6940 configured rifle for sure in the near future :( The LE line may have been discontinued due the rollmark's stating "Law Enforcement Only", but don't quote me on this as its just a speculation.
