I have never built a 7.62 AR type rifle and I was wondering if it uses the same LPK as a 5.56 based AR type rifle?

Do you mean a 308 AR or a 7.62x39 AR?

The Ma-Ten uses a standard ar-15 LPK but rec to use an armalite bolt catch.
The standard LR-308 use lr-308 LPK AFAIK

7.62x51 (.308) & 5.56x45 LPKs share some parts, but also have others that are different. Pistol grip, springs, detents, safety selector, trigger and hammer are universal.
The bolt catch & take down pins are different sizes. Also, the rear spring detent (for the rear take down pin) is retained with a threaded screw on the AR10 platform.
You'll want to purchase a AR-10 specific LPK
