Hello,

Just purchased my first pistol an SA 1911 Mil Spec Stainless, I got 4 days left to wait. I wanted to order a few extra magazines online while I wait it out. I read that Chip McCormick and Wilson magazines were very good when it comes to reliability.

Whats the best online seller to purchase these at? I found these in 8 Rnd that look pretty good. Of course the cheaper they are the more I can buy :D Is this pretty reasonable?

Try one of each: CMC Powermags, Wilson 47D or ETM, Tripp's Cobramags etc...

Find out which you're gun likes then buy a ****load of them.

The Chips from CTD you linked are not the "Power Mags" are the better magazines. Those are the "Shooting Star" magazines. I have never bought from CTD but there have been complaints. I usually buy from Brownells or Midway. For Wilsons check Dillon Precision. Their price is good but shipping is a bit steep.

I've been using the Shooting Star mags with great results. Inexpensive and excellent quality.:D

I have a couple of McCormick magazine and they work well. For the difference in price though -- $25 versus $10 -- I usually just stick to GI mags.

Got an email from Midway today. Chip McCormick 1911 mags are on sale.

McCormick shooting stars nick the feed ramp with follower tilt. The power mags are OK.

I recommended checkmate mags with dimpled followers and the hybrid feed lips.
