between the two i would get the saiga, its made in russia.the wasr is a cheap century knock off and not on par quality wise either with the saiga.also you can drop mags freely with the saiga and the century you'll need a bullet-button since it has the pistol grip.

So as far as quality the Saiga is better?

Yes, Saiga is better, but you won't get the "terrorist gun" look like the wasr one.

The Saiga is $150 cheaper. Is the quality that mugh better? I can for go the looks if the quality is that much better. What makes the quality better besides the name? As in parts?

Thanks for the feedback!

I have handled the Saiga and it is an awesome rifle for $400. I talked to some guys about it and they like it. They make several kits for it too for some customization ability.

Saiga is produced with new parts into new firearms by a Saiga company, and thus suppose to have better quality control. WASR is mostly from surplus parts from Romanian from 1970s-1980s and some US parts, there are many company put them together and produces them and from what I see, most are ok, but the chance of you getting a crappy one is a lot higher than Saiga. So buying WASR is a bit of gamble.

But WASR is standard AK, which have pistol grip and take standards AK mags, not with Saiga, you can only use the mags they produced, unless you want to spend like another $200 to modify it look like AK.

Any quality issues are in the fit and finish, that's it. Unless you have some tent made khyber pass model an Ak is an Ak. Actually I hear some of the khyber models are good.

The neat thing with the saiga is you can convert it as you like, not to say you can't with a Wasr, its just nice to think of the saiga as a blank slate.

$388 sounds good too.

Dealer told me today that Saiga is looking for a new exporter and the USA dealers are running low on the rifles until this happens. Everyone getting one? lol.

I pulled the trigger and got one. $380 OTD. Due to work, I got a discount from him.
