There's a Remington 700p in 308 with a Leopold Mk4 6.5-20x50LRT and bipod on consignment at a local shop. It is like new with a bright clean bore.

What do you think it's worth?

My guess is $1600 for rifle and scope...bipod,rings,mount for extra $$

id say more toward the 2k mark. that is a nice scope! though its a target version with the target knobs, its higher power raises the price. if you can pick that up for under 2k, i think youre sh****ng in tall cotton my friend!

again, rifle=about $1,000
scope= about $1,200
bipod=(depending on what it is, which is usually harris) $90.

$2200 is more like brand new price..these are used gun and scope..

$1600... unless you see it borescoped or can accurately verify round count. just because the barrel is bright doesnt mean it hasnt been shot out.

It could be one of the older Mark 4's that are much better than what you get now.

Hopefully so.
The old ones were actually real good scopes.

If you got it for under 2K and it has a decently low round count, it seems like a good deal to me.

$1,300 plus tax and dros, so $1,400 out the door. The consignee needed to sell it.

I had gone in to look at a Browning Citori 28g o/u on consignment and the 700p was displayed on the counter. I was drawn to it like I had no control. I noticed the LP MK4 right off because Iíve wanted some nice glass for my POF 308 but couldnít bring myself to drop the cash after spending so much on the AR.

It had only been there a few days and a couple of other people had looked at it. They are probably kicking themselves now.:D

It will be a nice match to the POF in the two rifle bag.

Again, thanks for your posts and thanks to Calguns.

Where do you live?
There's bound to be a longrange club nearby that will teach you how to actually USE that rifle.

I've been shooting and studying the craft for several years. But I know the value of hands on training from experts. I was looking at the website for the Sac Valley range today but it is a bit of a drive from my place.

I have a little different situation than many fellow Calguns members in that I have 100, 300 and 500 meter targets at my house in NorCal.

I am ordering 308 dies for my Dillon so I can take advantage of the recipies here and on snipershide for target rounds.

The scope's value is probably double that of the 700p. It sounds like you got a pretty good deal.

That is a $900 rifle and $1300+ scope (brand new price). So with just those 2 alone I think you scored!!!! I wish I came across that, would have bought it in a second.
