Just a heads up, by 8/1/2010 HK will increase the USP full or compact size 9/40, P2000, P2000SK by 5%.

Any reason why? Production costs increased? Value against the dollar? They're already pretty damn expensive...

I've always felt like HK's are too much money for too little gun as it is. Good guns for sure. Just too much money.

Even more of a reason not to get a HK, they are way over priced.

Price Should actually be lowered due to Euro $ to US$ exchange rate!

For guns that you have absolutely no doubt would work, the price is fine. If you don't feel comfortable paying the amount, buy used. The average civilian isn't going to put too many rounds through their guns anyway...

Agree, that's why I won't buy their products, and I am sure they could care less, they cater to the .Mil.

Not a biggie, I wasn't planning to buy a new one (or most used HKs, for that matter) anyway.

so glocks, sigs and others give you more of a doubt if they would work then a HK?

I don't think this will affect their civilian sales. Their price of entry is already at a point where if someone isn't totally into em, they'll ignore em. So now, the ones who are willing to buy their guns anyways are just gonna pay more.

I bought a USP 9mm a couple years ago. Very clean, used for 5 bills. I like the gun but I really think they are overpriced just like Sigs.

Brand new I'd agree with you except for sig pros. Though many could be had at great prices used. I just acquire an all stainless 226 w less than 250 down the pipe for around 500

While I like USP pistols, their prices are absolutely outrageous. The government of the state may have money to acquire a few for law enforcement of security guards, but for poor innocent citizens like myself..... thank you. I will stick with Hi-points.

Isn't there an HK guy (collector) on the forum? I'm sure he might know why.

Meh. All my HKs were purchased as used. I do think that the price they go for when they are new is just a bit higher. So I just wait for used ones.

Bought one of the first USPs on the Cal. market in early 90-ties. Still have it. Paid then $550 for a new one. Guess, they were always expensive.
BTW Drove Mercedes lately? ;)

<sigh> I like the taste of HK Kool Aid. I'll still pay the HK tax regardless.

Im glad I just recently bought my USP. Yes they are pricey, but they are excellent weapons. I would go with Glocks for the price, but I just cant stand the feel of them :(

Anyone that thinks gun are expensive, doesnt shoot enough.

Ammo and training are expensive.

I love my USP.

I love it. That just means my USP commands a higher re-sale value. :D

With some of the issues I've been hearing lately with some other manufacturers, I'll stick with my HKs. The quality of their products is excellent. It comes at a premium, but not much more.

If you're on a budget, more affordable brands are going to be ideal. I talked a friend of mine into picking up an HK45. He's been a long time Glock user, but he said shooting the HK45 is dream and has certainly caused him to give HKs a second look.

You don't shoot enough... seriously :)

Guns are expensive, but its a 1-time deal. Ammo, accessory, range costs easliy comes out higher.
E.g.

HK 9mm new $700

1K rnds of 9mm $200
6 mags = $200
2 holsters OWB/IWB = $100
12 range trips = $200
----------------------------
total = $700 for the first year.

Then, $400 each additional year of ownership.

If you decide to clean it, that's even more money.

The price of an HK pistol is insignicant next to the power of The Dark Side.

errr, I mean the cost of ammo. God forbid you start paying for classes.

Sig's cost just as much as USP's. And comparing a glock to something like this?

I am no way knocking on Glocks, I freaking love the pistols. But if I had to choose between a USP and a Glock and money wasn't an issue, I would go with a USP.

However, a pistol that I have yet to shoot and would REALLY compete with the USP, would be the M&P series pistols. They are freaking AWESOME!

Glad I got my Stainless USPc on 10 day wait. For those that whine about HK prices must not own a 1911. A USP was cheap compared to some of my 1911's. :p

But at least with 1911's you can build at your pace if necessary. I have yet to see an inexpensive G.I. model or Mil-Spec model USP that I can turn into a full blown beast with a few trips to the gunsmith over time. That said, I'd love a USP! But after having fondled the MK23, the USP would be like getting a date with Megan Fox but being stuck going home with her plain-Jane sister. Lol
