I am looking for the best high capacity (12-13-14 rounds) 45acp pistol with a DA/SA trigger, what is out there? So far I have found the HK USP 45, along with the mk23, and the FNP 45, along with the disgustingly cool looking FN 45 Tactical with doctor optics. What else is out there?

best bang per buck will be the CZ97 IMO. 10rd standard but i think it can accept a 2 rd extension if its available.

Hi-cap? Ruger P90 can use this weird mag for 15 rounds!! What does BEST mean anyway???

BTW - I'm guessing these are pretty crappy - they got bad reviews.

The HK45=10 rounds so it really doesn't fit the OP's criteria. I'm still with you though Lucky7, loose two rounds, gain a more ergonomic pistol. Love my HK45;)

Opps don't know why I thought it held more. But back on topic the USP .45 is a very nice gun since you want more capacity.

I WOULD recommend the PX4 .45 but it only goes up to ten rounds. Sad days...

Glock 21/21SF are 13rd .45 guns. I also think one of the XD/XDm .45 are 13rd+ capacity guns.

Fullsize HK 45 USP holds 12 rounds. CA has limited it to 10.

I would not worry about it. You cannot have the 11+ round mags anyway in california

Oops... Disregard my post then. I forgot the DA/SA requirement.

I'm pretty sure that you can use prebans on USP's or else I'm in big trouble.

Its possible for the OP to get the standard mags if he's LEO or otherwise exempt.
Or, he could have dual residency.

Just be aware that the threaded bbl on the FNP 45 Tac makes it an AW by features, so you couldn't bring it into CA w/o swapping bbls. EFK sells bbls for that gun, btw

No such thing as "pre-ban" USP45 magazines.

The 12 round USP45 magazine was available after the Federal '94 ban went into effect. So in the USA from 1994-2004, they were only available to LE/Gov/Mil.

However, since the Fed '94 ban is no longer in effect, if you illegal acquired 12 round magazines prior to 01-01-2000, they would have been legally acquire in regards to the CA large capacity magazine laws.

Pretty sure the OP is either a LEO, or otherwise permitted to buy high-caps.
