parking cost? shoould i expect a 3/4mile line to get in?

i just dont like to go into things without having expectations. thanks for the help. and hope to see you guys there.

for a cheapo dot and "some" ammo I would skip it.
basic show, smaller than CM and IT WILL BE CRAZY this time around.

Very small. Smaller than Del Mar. Think of a BIG conference room. Also, parking is charged at the center.

yes, this show is very small.... do not even waste your time and gas... j/k

I just hope some of the prices will come down, and that there will be quite a bit of ammo.

I thought I heard Ammo Bros was going to be there?

Calguns will have a booth there so stop in and say hey to your fellow Calgunners. If there is ammo there they will know where to find it.

can someone compare Ontario's size to the Glendale show? I'm presuming that Ontario is similar in size. I'm looking for info on how Ontario goes to get a feel for later shows in the region.
I'm planning to go to Costa Mesa but dread the insane mob that will likely be there. And crazy prices. I'm simply not going to pay $40+++ for 1k of primers.
Nor any substantial markup on bulk bullets or powders.
Gunshows used to be the place for good bargains on reloading components. The Thanksgiving Costa Mesa show was ok, but stuff was flying out of there, the ONLY relaoding component seller was out of powder and primers by ~1030am on Sat. And I'm sure bullets not long after.
Don't even want to imagine what the D-Day mob is going to be like. Or Jun20 in Bakersfield.

I'm pretty sure that Ontario's show is going to be larger than the Glendale show was.

Ontario is a large (actually quite nice) conference center. Its definately not as big as CM, not even close. MiWall will be there, as always, and I have seen Ammo Bros. and CWS there before too. You probably could find primers there. I hope by the time I get there there is still some ammo left.

I happened to be in the area and attended an Ontario show last year - Nice size - One interesting thing I noted - There were lots of families in attendant -

I am supposed to go there on the way to lytle creek for some sight-ins....I plan on being there IN LINE at like 730am..like CM. It is a much smaller show and LAST time I parked across in the dirt they charged 8-10 bucks...but later, people were parking for free...went and *****ed and got my tenner back..
Maybe i will get some ammo but I will have someone from our group stay with the car...tooo much $$$ 'stuff' inside to leave unattended in a lot.
I plan at MOST 1 hour in there then get to lytle by 1030-11, god I hope it is not 100 degrees this weekend..

The convention center does not allow the vendors to sell powder or primers. But nice show if your looking for other things.

So, I've never been to a gun show and I'm new to the gun thing.

I was thinking of popping up there for the "educational factor." Anyone want to point a newbie towards some important info about gun shows? I was searching around for it but all I could find was "Gun show loophole" silliness.

If I pop up I'll definitely drop by the CalGun booth.

If this is your first show, please only believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. If you need to ask legal questions, be very mindfull of who you ask.

The Calguns booth would be good to ask questions at. I know for a fact if PRK is there, they are good to ask. And yes if PRK is there, they're guns are for sale, and they are real.

I have not been to a show since the 1990's so I too am curious what this one will be like. Im mainly looking for ammo, complete uppers, various BCG and some optics. Figured by the time the show at the ventura county fairgrounds comes around the ammo prices will be worse.

This is the most expensive gun show to go to. Parking was 8 bucks and entry was 12 or 14 bucks. You have to spend a bunch of money to save any.

Guys, this should be a great event- please stop by to support your fellow Calgunners and grab some Calguns gear while you're there! The Calguns booth will be right next to Ammo Bros., and there will be a limited number of very nice canvas bags available for only $10 to help you haul those spam cans, good deals and CGN shirts/hats around.

Special thanks to plm61, bonecutter and geeknow, as well as the whole CGN Ontario booth crew, for making this happen in such a short timeframe. Calguns volunteers FTW!

This is what I do -

I try to get a map of the layout or I make one as I'm there. Having a list of what I'm looking for, I walk through all the vendors and when I see it, I make a note on my map with the price, than I continue to look for it with another vendor... basicaly I'm comparing prices. I do take a backpack and try to make the purchases at the end so I don't carry that much with me.

Oh yeah, one of the items at the Calguns booth is a Guy/Ammo Shopping Bag.
Its huge, canvas with heavy straps.
I loaded it up about half full of ammo and could hardly lift it. I carried it around the house swinging it around as a test and it held together.
Load it up with guns, gun parts, jerky and any other goodies you find around the show.

Had a few at the Cow Palace show for the guys to check out. Only feedback was that they sold out shortly after opening.

I purposely left any identifying branding off it so as to be a bit more discreet and lower cost to you.
Plus you can personalize it yourself with your own Crayola's.

Stop by and see us and we'll give you a stick-on Calguns name tag so you can show off your membership to the rest of the show patrons.

Lots of CGF merchandise for sale. Get there early for the best selection (after you get your ammo, of course!)

Yes, there will be vendors selling AR parts. I'd assume you'd be able to pick up an extractor without any issues.

Sucks... hopefully PRK will be in Costa Mesa on June 6-7. Last time I went to the Ontario gun show in January, I didn't see many ar parts being sold. I hoped it changed this time..

Fortunately we have had to cancel our trip to Ontario at the last minute as our updated FFL came today allowing for us to finally complete our move to the new shop. I deemed this the priority for us as we have been virtually closed for 3 weeks due to paperwork delays. There are a few more permits needed before we can open but they require the updated FFL to change them. Gotta love the bureaucracy of this stuff its really a PITA!
Good news is once we get up to speed and all acklog work cleared out we throw a nice official grand opening.

Not sure if we will make Costa Mesa as we are day by day until we get up and running again.

I went today. I`m so glad I purchased my tickets on-line I went straight to the front of the line. It was crowded but tapered off. I got 200 rounds of hornady 6.8mm spc ammo from miwall booth.....decent priced too.....and they had plenty of it(thats where the big crowd was by the way....but that tapered off too). so.....all in all ....I had a good day....next stop.... costa mesa in june....miwall again:thumbsup:

not much reloading equipment I was looking for a dillon press(no powders or primers were allowed in convention center) they had dies though for other calibers they had no 6.8 spc dies in which im looking for.....costa mesa will be much better....as in reloading equipment. On the other hand, cold war shooters had a pretty good selection of AR rifles and decent priced too ...... I was suprised....ammo bros selection was okay but cold war`s prices were better ....

well i got 1 of the items i wanted and walked out with another i didnt expect. got a AIM holo sight for my 10/22. And found some 6.5 JAP for a friend.

I didnt even bother with trying to get in at the minwall booth. i was just not in the mood. I got there at about 1/4 to 7 waited in line for tickets than remembered **** left my lights on, there was some good fog in Fallbrook. went, waited in line again to buy tickety than waited in teh huge *** line to get in. But luckily i was closer to the fron than most. I could at least see the door. How far back did the line go?

My next road trip may be the Yuma gun show. but it looks like the next one is in november. :(

Picked up a side swivel sling mount, armorers tool, and scope rail for my AR. Saw lots of other things I wanted but didn't have enough money. Also stopped by the Calguns booth and picked up a T-shirt.

After the show we went to the Pechanga casino and spent the money we didn't spend at the show.

And to end the night took the wife to a strip club in Riverside for her first time. Loved the look on my wife's face when the girl came to her for personal show.

WOW .What a great time yesterday
I had a Lot of fun helping out at the Cal-Gun booth .Really different being behind the table at a gun show !

I brought the Hakim and my '43 Winchester Carbine
And the guy at the gun checking station just let us in a side door maybe 40 min. before the show opened at 9:00 ,,( that alone was really Cool ! )
Everything got setup on the table so I had a few minutes to look around before the show opened

As I was at The Cal-Gun table talking to people thru the morning , I could of sold my 2 rifles at least 3 different times !!!!! I had them both up on my shooting sand bags so they would show up nice !!!
After a while Patrick had to make a sign ' Not For Sale '

When I was showing a few people how the Hakim worked , It would draw a crowd ..... people would stop and watch how it worked and ask questions / Then we would give them the Cal-Gun info...... The I would put a new zip-tie on
So having a few Good guns on the table was a good people getter .

I couldn't count how many brochures I handed out .
I went to other vendors and even at the front door and met people coming in . Everyone wanted info. about the site . Went really well .
I even had some Off-Road buddies of mine drop by that were there for the Show !!!!

I really had a Blast helping and talking to people
and how to get a C + R lic .

Some people say every picture tells a story .......
Well I belive every C + R gun is a piece of History with it's own story

Count me IN for helping out again sometime in the future
And By the way , Patrick did a great job of putting everything together
We all looked cool in our Cal-Gun shirts

Saw 2 Ontario cops at the show and they were getting all sketchy at the CWS booth because the rifles all had mags in them ....which kind of surprised me also....hell ,could have made off with like 20 various magazines if I were less than honest....show was packed, wholesale ammo limited people to 5K rounds per purchase and a saw AT LEAST 10 people who BOUGHT 5K rounds in various calibers!

If the rifles didn't have locked mags in them they would have been AWs, and thus illegal. No different than walking by a table with a box of random pistol mags. If you were a thief, yes you could steal them. I just think maybe someone would pickup on the fact that someone was ejecting mags from rifles.

Now if you had stolen the mags, you would have created a bunch of AWs. Who would get in trouble for that, the guys running the booth or the guy stealing the mags? So in other words you get caught stealing the mags, would you also get charged with the more serious crime of manufacturing Assault Weapons?

No, it was actually relatively empty by the time we got there. no lines at all at either Ammo Bros or Miwalls. Maybe 3-4 folks were being waited on at any one time? I was surprised by the number of cases of wolf 7.62x39, 30 carbine, and .223 left at Miwalls at the end of the day ($159 per case of 500).

It needs a big overhead banner, I saw it, but didn't chat with anyone. Didn't not notice booth right away.

Ontario was mostly price gouging but I didn't pay for parking at least and had a coupon. I made out ok by just looking hard for little odds and ends at cheap or cheaper than normal pricing. Got some .22lr bricks from a floor walker at $15 a brick. Also some 1911 parts, buckmark mags, ect.

Guns, forget it, just mostly speculative, rediculous pricing.
