Hey there all.
I have recently purchased a Spikes Tactical AR15 .22LR conversion. Any advice on what kind of ammo to use that'll run well? Do I need to use a mag lock when the conversion is in? I have a B15 mag lock so it's easy to take off if Idont need it. Thanks!

Spikes recommends using Federal 36 grain copper jacketed bulk pack. You can find it at Walmart. No bullet button is needed when you have the conversion installed but when you swap back then you will need it.

Check over on ar15.com under the Spike's Tactical forum. They have various ammo results over there, with photos of groups.

If you can't find the Federal 36gr HP .22LR value pack at Walmart, the American Eagle Red Boxed 36gr HP is basically the same thing without the "value pack" packaging.

Federal Bulk Red Box didn't work very well. Winchester 333 bulk pack run flawless in my conversion. Remington golden bullets were an epic fail.

Uh oh. Is the 22 target the Wolf stuff?

I've been running the Wolf match target through my Spikes without any issues so far. Bad news?

Remington golden bullets were an epic fail.

Roger that. I couldn't even get one round of that stupid ammo to feed correctly. Frustrating.

I'm considering buying a Spikes .22 LR conversion kit for my Bushmaster.
How much of the tuning described in the links should I anticipate having to do?

Looks like what is more of an issue is keeping it clean, and using the right ammo.
Anybody had to really dig in and tune these rigs?
