$67 now.

Quick question - I'm not seeing anything regarding personal checks, OK to send personal check or must it be Money Order?

It literally says "Check or Money Order"

TIA guys

Where did you see the non-res price @ $67?

There website today still says: "non-refundable fee of $37.00 for Utah residents or $47.00 for non-residents must be included with your application".

Download the application form and you'll see there is a place for Credit Card payment info as well.

But the fee is still $47 for non-residents.

Wow. You are right!

The downloaded Application Form has just changed on there web site... but they haven't updated other parts of the site yet. Dang... I should have mailed it in last week.
Apparently the new form is dated July 30, 2017.

To your original question, a check is a check... and it says on the Application Form: "credit card, money order or check made payable to
“Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification”. Name and address must be imprinted on check." So I would say personal check is ok.

I sent a business check (my name is part of the business name). The clue is the statement: "Name and address must be imprinted on check."

Be carefull with a credit card payment.
I used my card info on the application form.
My card co. denied the payment($47)because criminal was in the payee name.
Utah sent back my application.
I ended up sending a check.

I mailed in my $47 using a personal check on August 1. On Aug 11 they cashed the check, then on Aug 16 the check cleared.

Still have not received the permit yet.

Sorry I was not complaining about the lead time. Just posting that my $47 check was cashed so I guess the fee was ok at the time.

Oh, I know. It seems that it was about 3 weeks after my check was cashed that it showed up.
