So i recently got into firearms and my first firearm was a AR. i bought a kit and it came with a A2 birdcage flash hider. So i did this to it. since it doesnt disperse anymore gases or flash separately because there are no bridges between the prongs. Is this considered a muzzle brake?

No, that's a flashider for sure. 100% not a brake.

Flash hider. If the hole is noticeably larger then the barrel hole then it's considered a flash hider.

Nope. Just a simple way to distinguish the two. The exception is hybrids but CA doesn't accept . Has to be 100% muzzle brake.

That'd be great if things were simple. ;)

You did that to it? Well congratulations, you turned a flash hider into a flash hider.
