Loaded up 20rds of each

7.62x39 16" AR

Fiocchi brass
WLR
24.5 & 24.0 grains AA1680(first time with this powder for me)
Hornady 123 v-max

Put 2 rnds of the 24.5 in my mag and slammed the bolt home.
Round goes off and no ejection, next round smashes in to case.
Had to come back and push the stuck one out, took a little bit of pokeing to get it free.

Cases full length sized with my lee dies, but I used a friends RCBS single stage.
I have never had a failure in this gun with factory or my loads(had funny ejecting with some fusion, they did eject but kinda just dribbled out-that was mnths ago)

Anyway I couldn't find a load for this. Used the new Lyman book with data for 123 gr sp, what I usually load. We noticed the v max is longer so we kept it to 24.5 instead of the max 25.7.

Does it look like the primer flattened? Am I to hot on that load.

I did find some. "Best recipes" on a hunting forum and most were going with 25.5 behind a 123 v max. They weren't loading for AR's though, AK' and SKS I believe.

I have loaded quite a bit with 30gr of H335 and SP and H point with no problems.

First round is my "dummy round" second is fired round, third and fourth are from the same batch.

Primers, unless they're flattened right out into chef hats, aren't all that reliable of an indicator; things like the ejector peening onto the case rim, however, are a good indicator. Are there any indications that the ejector left a strong impression?

Tough to tell without actually being there, but at 3 o'clock that looks too hot to me, yes.

Ok, I will try a round at 24.0 and see how that works. Guess I will pull the bullets out of the 24.5 and reduce if the lower charge is good.
