I used McMaster, was considering Enco if McMaster didn't have the sizes I needed.

Called knowing what you're looking for and searching for it.

Mcmaster carr, MSC, Enco, if you want to pay full price for something you're not going to use enough to get the benefit from.

Ebay would be my top pick for a situation like this.

That depends on how your doing the lowers.

If your using jig and router, then eBay is the place for cheap low quality end mills that you can trash.

If your using a mill, then I wouldn't even look at eBay. Get something quality.

You can find lots of quality endmills on ebay if you know which ones are quality and which are junk. Enco mostly sells Atrax solid carbide endmills which I think are pretty low end. One of my guys turned me onto design-rite I was super impressed at how a three flute ZRN coated end milled performed compared to an ENCO two flute Atrax.

I use 5/16 4 flute ones around 3.5 inches long. They seem to hold up better. I also drill down through the corners because it is faster and keeps the load down on the endmill and reduces the chance of breaking. I get mine from whatever I find on ebay that are close. Also buy coated they last considerably longer. I also cheat by using a 5/8 rougher to hog out the trigger area first.

I used cheap amazon one. The clearly came from china.
Once I'm better with the mill I will get good ones.
I think it's like a motor cycle. You don't want a Ducati for your first bike.
I picked up reasonable collets from fastenall

Try http://www.grizzly.com/

That's Grizzly Industrial tools.

They are up in Washington.
May people think they are mainly wood working but have plenty of goodies for the machinist.

Great prices. Some stuff from China but for milling Alum. they work good enough.

Here is one end mill page:
