bullet button reloaded front pivot pin limiter

I was discussing the new laws and the BB reloaded with a buddy, he said he saw somewhere a front pivot pin that limits the upper swing so it doesn't bang the lower when pulled. Anyone know about this? I did a google search but couldn't find anything and not sure what to call it.

I can say I have seen front pivots ears snap off on a M16A2 when the guy just pulled the rear pin and let it the upper swing / fall....
