Need help with Zastava N-PAP

Hey folks I have a newer Zastava N-PAP AK-47 and was looking to add a railed forend but having trouble finding what I want. I would prefer one that extends all the way to the gas block or at least close to it (I looked at the Midwest Industries extended handguard but apparently it won't work for the N-PAP?) but I will settle for a "standard" length one if I really like it.

Does anyone have any ideas? Not interested in any UTG stuff. I do like the ZenitCo products but I can't find any info on whether or not their handguards work for the N-PAP. Thank you gentlemen.

Yes that will work for the gas tube but I'm still having trouble finding a railed handguard that extends to the gas block that will fit on a Zastava.

Midwest Industries is your best bet but they dont make extended rails specific to Yugo rifles.

you could probably cut the hand guard retainer off and use the Magpul extended handguard...

I just got to thinking....these newer Century Zastava N-PAPS do not have the bulged front trunnion like the older M70 O-PAPS did. So, shouldn't any handguard made for a stamped receiver also fit the N-PAP? Or is there something else that makes the N-PAP incompatible with these handguards.

Where are the AK experts??

The Zastava M70 NPAP is basically just a 1.0mm thick version of the real M70 OPAP with the bulged trunnion which is 1.5 The handguards will only work with other M70 rifles. A standard AKM will not fit, at least to my knowledge. Yugo's are built to differen't specs, the wood will not fit on any regular AKM. They use a older milled type buttstock bolt that was used on the regular Type III AK-47. The handguards are different also.

Also if it's becoming a pain in the *** to find what you want. Consider a RS regulate mount for the Yugo use the scope rail that comes with the rifle.

Thanks. I may go with MI's new M-Lok handguards designed specifically for the Yugos. I just don't understand why they don't extend them to the gas block like for the "standard" AK's. Anyway, these Zastava NPAPS do in fact have a 1.5mm receiver thickness but without the bulged trunnion and grenade launcher sight.
