Very cool
Remington picked up an AR15 in 1960 to see what makes them tick....
Interesting how many parts are similar or the same

Very cool video, thanks OP..
I had to google Remington AR-15. I thought the guy said that Remington was largest maker of AR-15's.

They might be if you add up DPMS, Bushmaster, etc.

Pretty interesting. Four years later full auto AR15s were in action in South Vietnam in the hands of SF teams such as Medal of Honor recipient CPT Roger Donon.

Good video info.
Now if only more AR clone manufacturers would get on board with their own iteration of the original.
Complete "old school" originals (sans happy switch and with).
When I was a kid I had one just like it.
Okay it was made by Mattel. It had a wind up speaker on the side that made the full auto sound, but I digress.

Too bad neither knew much about early AR-15's. Didn't know that was an Edgewater buffer, and L on the rear sight for "low light"???? Would have been much better if a retro-head was filming it, as there are certain areas that would have been very interesting.

A few months ago, I traded into a 1976 vintage Colt SP1. The more I have shot this rifle, the more I appreciate the light weight and simplicity of it. I has inspired me to build a M16-E1 clone and I am waiting for a couple of parts to show up finish a 70's era M16-A1.

You can get that style uppers and lowers for that from Nodak. There are 1/7 pencil barrels made by McKay. Those guns had some issues cracking round the buffer tube and mags coming out by accident due to no gate on the mag release. You can also find the hard chrome carriers and bolts floating around, but the military pulled all of those out from front line service because they were so reflective.
Also people have been putting together clones of these for years, I have always wanted one but couldn't get the correct colt lower for the build :/

Agreed. Too much duuur huuuur look at that! Thats funny cause its different duuur huuur! Too little real info and too much horrible camera work..
I don't know who that Remington representative is but he seemed like he got the job because hes a frat-bro with someone.
Not to mention the "buzzfeed" style title... might as well been "The Oldest AR-15 in Existence??? You'll never believe what happens next!"
Come on Yeager you should know that Mr. Reed Knight and the Institute of Military Technology have older ones and prototypes.

They also made stuff with bakelite and the AR-17 shot gun with lugged bolt. It should be noted the the AR-10 is the grand daddy of every ar-15 out there and the design is about as old as the Kalashnikov.
