Hey guys,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a recommended gunsmith or machine shop in the SF Bay or East Bay area that can cut a couple inches off a Remington 700 barrel, as well as thread it for a break? I've done a bit of searching and couldn't come up with much of anything besides some recommended shops out of state. If it comes to having to ship out my barreled action, I will, but i'd rather exhaust all available resources here before going that route.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks gentlemen!

Spartan precision rifles run by Marc Soulie

Great builder by the way and while he is cutting and threading, you might want him to do a little work
He built a few rifles for a few guys that attend ncpprc in sac.

I had a couple of 80% recievers cerakoted by Pete Swanson at Global Plating in Fremont. I asked him about cutting, threading, and recrowning a 16" AR barrel. Estimate was $80. I have not got it done yet but you can try him. He was working on a nice rem 700 short stroke in an AI stock peteswanson@sbcglobal.net
