Shot my freshly built ak74 last weekend. first time I have ever fired a AK ever. first round no problem, next round got stuck in the dust cover. same with the next and next then case stuck in chamber. had to pound it out with cleaning rod. Looking for someone with ak experience that wants to go shooting this weekend. and or some advice.

Let me see a nice picture of your ejector. Did you heat treat it?

usually I shoot on blm land, last week I was about 3 miles north of Quartzsite.
2 weeks before I was 20 miles north west of Ludlow.
so I drive till there is no people what so ever. not that I don't like people.

I do live in Cardiff. and I work at the del mar fairgrounds, 22years. me and my fiancÚ are rock hounds - prospectors like the TV show:). after a hard day digging rocks I get to shoot on some incredibly awesome ranges that I set up. I would be game to run out to ocotillo we have no trips planned till the next holiday weekend.

Did you file the ejector down? You usually don't have to file the ejectors on 74. The four 74's i've built, I have never filed them down. Sounds like your ejector is too short.

Ok, to be honest, I actually did file my 105 build alittle too much. I tig welded the ejector and filed it back into shape. worked like a charm.

yes. like a noob and listening to someone I thought knew what he was doing. I trimmed the ejector before I heat treated and spot welded it in. I also had to tig weld it up than milled it to the original size.
I pulled the firing pin loaded up a mag cycled the action and it ejects cartridges nicely across the room.

:28: now if only I could find someone to go shooting with tomorrow on some BLM land.
