It's a hit and miss thing with Wild Sports. I have noticed a frequent "Now hiring" sign there the last few times I visited.

Gary is really cool and knowledgeable.

They do indeed have great sales.

They do an 11 day wait, which we do as well so I never really had a problem with that.

They have that weird thing where if your ID isn't current you can purchase a fishing license from them then it suddenly becomes current?..We also don't accept PO Box address' so that isn't necessary a totally weird and isolated thing.

We also don't sell .22LR to anyone under 21, corporate policy..but any other rifle caliber is 100% ok.

If it makes you feel any better back in the day they wouldn't sell me a Hogue rubber sleeve because I wasn't 21.

Yep, if I get treated in an ugly manner I give them a second chance.

After that, if things don't improve I usualy let loose with some crass remark
about how the place is going to look good as a clothing store.

I never knew where it really was many years back when I went there semi-regularly when I took a trip to Sac for a change of pace. I picked up my first revolver there in 1988. a Light barrel Ruger GP100 6" for the very reasonable price of $328. I still own it.

They gave me enough crap over the years that I stopped buying guns from them entirely and go in there every once in a blue moon to take a look at things but never really buy anything. When I was looking for a Remington PSS in 308 they refused to sell it to me because I wasn't LE. Jerks. I went somewhere else and got a pretty good deal on a 700 Varmint in 308 (same gun, diff stock). The guy behind the counter gave me a box of 168 gr Match Remingtons to break it in with. Nice guy.

I reload now so I get my components online, from my range (Richmond Rod and gun club) or when Frank has a group buy now and then.

I've been going to Wild Sports for around the last 14 years. I bought my first handgun there. It was a Firestar M45 for $200 bucks. The best thing was dealing with Gary. I've dealt with a few other guys, but he's the best they got.

I do have to admit I've dealt with a few jerks in the shop, but the ammo prices and gun sales are too good to pass up. I just walk in knowing what I want, buy it, and then walk right out. If you're looking for great service, then head over to RCGE. Good bunch of guys.

I bought a XD 40 Standard bi-tone there two weeks ago. Had a good buying experience, I thought. Imagine my surprise, after picking the gun up and checking it out at home, to discover they charged me $6.95 for the gun lock that Springfield includes with the gun..

I go there quite a bit for ammo because of the good sales they have with coupons. Thats about the only thing I buy there though. Im a very frequent buyer of that XM193 .223 under the rack of waders or whatever lol. Matter of fact I was in there Sunday. Ive never really had a problem there, but then again im almost 30 so I wouldnt have the age issue. Ive actually had more 'issues' per say at RCGE all be it most the guys at RCGE are cool cept for a couple tools mixed in lol.

You got that right about RCGE.. I usually dawn my firesuit before going into any new gun store, as I never know who is going to be on the other end.
