Default scope risers for flat top AR?

I have a cheapo 7x scope mounted on my flat top and expected the front Irons to block my field of vision. After trying it out, I hardly notice the front sight at all, and the scope works great. Any real reason why I should buy a riser other than looks?

As long as the fit is good for you, it's not a big deal.

Many people like the scope to be the same centerline as their iron sights (1.4") so they can use the same shoulder mount and cheek weld for both - it makes for quicker acquisition and sight picture if you switch back and forth between iron and optics.

Aside from that, it's all a matter of what works best for you.

Thanks for the responses guys.I allready have the RRA Eotech Dominator riser, works great w/the Eo, but it wont work with a long scope. I think I will just wait until I get a real piece off glass.... or maybe just buy annother AR in Rifle length and get it over with
