It is a very good scope it is just way over priced. The Millett DMS-1 is a much better deal and it will serve you very well. The only drawback is you want have the prestige of owning a Leupold. That doesn't matter to me though.

I just bought the Millett DMS 1-4...I still need to sight it in at the range. Additionally, I'm considering the Leupold because I like the reticle...

For the money there are better choices, IMHO. Some really like them, though.

I have the 2.5-8x with M2 knobs and TMR reticle and I love it. I have it on a rifle I use for steel matches where the distances range from 75 to 550 yards.

Whether dialing come ups or holding over, it's spot on and has held up well. Have over 1000 rounds through it so far.

I own the Leupold and found it to be great for ranges of 10 yards to 400 yards. The only downside is the cost but overall I am fully satisfied. If your on a budget go with the DMS-1. The only drawback of the DMS-1 is the out of focus or fish eye effect on the outskirt of the Field of view at high mag.

I don't have that problem on my DMS. Mine is very clear on the 4x power.

My DMS-1 definitely has a bit of fish-eye at 1x around the periphery. I haven't noticed it at 4x, but I haven't looked real hard. My Weaver V3 1-3x20 does the same thing at 1x. They're both pretty noticeable, but it doesn't bother me. I don't notice it in my Leupold CQ/T at 1x.

The DMS-1 is a fine scope for the money, but not at all in the same league as a Leupold VX-III or Mk4.

Other good scopes in this mag range and a medium price range:

Trijicon TR-21 1.25-4x
Meopta K-Dot 1-4x22
IOR 1.1-4x
Burris 1-4x24 Euro Diamond
Leupold CQ/T

I've also got a DMS scope. It is okay for the cost but I plan on upgrading to something better soon.

But comparing the optics in it to the Leupold is like comparing night and day. The Leupold is MUCH better. The edge-to-edge clarity is excellent.

The DMS glass is substandard in comparison.

I'd consider either a Leupold or IOR over the DMS if you can afford them.
