Default AMD65 and AK47 parts kit questions

Hello, I sorry if this is an ignorant question but can a romanian 16" barrel be used with a AMD65 kit?

Sorry for this question but I saw an AMD kit minus the barrel and instead of finding an amd barrel and adding a fake can or long muzzle brake, i figured just use an original chrome line barrel from a Romanian AK. IF i could find one.

Also is it easier to find an AK47 (223) parts kit with orignal barrels?

And what is the typical going rate for an AK kit. Every kit i see does not have a barrel and if they do, they go for $600+

Im not concerned with authenticity, just concerned with reliability.

U need a standard gas tube and piston too because the romy barrel gas port is drilled further out. Unless you get an undrilled one.

It'll work. I made an akm-63 clone with the amd-65 parts kit and a new-old-stock Romanian barrel.

This, unless you have access to a lathe and virgin barrel. Then you can turn the shoulder down and back to where it'll line up with the AMD gas tube.

Thanks guys. Sounds doable but i would prefer to use a chrome lined original barrel, so I assume Id need the piston and gas tube correct

And Tantals' and Krinks, and Beryls' and 100 series SBR's and AIMR's......
AKM's will generally use the same rough barrel profile but I would never say they take a standard barrel. There are AKMs that use 22mm trunnion journals.

Thanks for the info. I guess it be harder to find a romy barrel than a amd kit minus the barrel huh!
No, Yugos tend to use the 23mm trunnion, it's the profile that's different and the gas tube is longer.

OP mentioned a Romanian AKM barrel so i was assuming he meant a 7,62 as the Tantal, AIMR and Krink are 5.45 and the Beryl is 5.56

AMD65 kit with a 16" barrel, need to buy a receiver and a few 922r parts and you have an AK (after you build it, that is)

I bought one, thing looks BRAND NEW minus a few dings in the plastic grips.

This is a very good deal for a pre-populated kit!
