And now its gone, all focus on VA vanished.

Funny obama claims he wants the Va back log done but does not hold anyone accountable, lets the president of the VA "resign" mean while obama just gave Syria $195,000,000 as a gift for the end of Ramadan (Muslim holiday). WTF OVER!?!?!?

Make sure you stay on top of your claim. I just received back pay for a claim that I started in 2006, and just received my rating on. They only gave me 6 months of back pay because they said I failed to respond in time on one of my appeals. They therefor treated it as a new claim. The difference in pay was several thousand dollars. FYI...

Ugh I hit them up with a decent letter (basically a legal memorandum) and went from pending decision to gathering evidence. I guess that is good; should mean they are looking at my stuff.

Yeah. I started appealing this back last year. Ended up calling them and saying kind of a "WTF" over their gross error. The guys on the other end agreed that the error was pretty egregious (not even my medical records were used). So they did a Clear and Unmistakeable Error claim (CUE).

Working on it though. Getting the ducks lined up to hit a home run.

I am still waiting on a rating for the last claim I won. They told me 60-90 days from being accepted as service connected. It's been about a month so far, so I have to patient I guess. I got 10% for tinnitus, but the gave me nothing for hearing loss even though it's fairly substantial in one ear. I am not sure if I should challenge the zero percent on the hearing loss or not. Need to talk to a rep probably when all my stuff comes back, and see what they think about all the ratings. I will be happy when this **** is finished. Been 8 years...

I talked to a rep about that, and she said she could get it done in 6 months if I send the stuff to her. She did say it could take up to two years if I tried it myself. The whole system is ridiculous...

One of the reasons I moved from California to Las Vegas after retiring from the Army is the State income tax was KILLING me. I was working as a military contractor overseas and they were taking $800 per pay period.
Another reason was the VA. Retiring out of Ft Irwin, I was bounced around from Loma Linda to San Diego.
The Southern Nevada VA system should be the model for the rest of the VA's around the country.
Appointments are speedy and all of the VA doctors and assistants I've seen have been thoroughly professional and friendly.
To all of the guys waiting for their claims, best of luck!

Debating adding contentions to a CUE claim or to just do them on a new claim so my CUE can process faster. Only reason I'm thinking I want to add contentions I can prove is this is still my initial claim so my understanding is I should receive backpay from day 1.

It might slow down your process...ask your claim officer about it first.b However, it's your case so you do what you have to do and stay top of it.

I think my case might have slowed down little because they add more medical condition to my original claim.

Have you have any past C&P appointments or examinations? The only reason why they would jump the phases is if there is more than enough evidence, or they're outright saying you do not have enough evidence.

Yeah, pretty much all attention fixed on the VA has died now. Now they're back to their paper-piling desk pace, while more and more of our fellow servicemembers are suffering.
