Sorry for the late response. Haven't lurked in this section for a while. I sent my the P229 enhanced elite in nitron to Accurate Plating and Weaponry to have it brush hard chromed. The top and frame were matte chromed and the sides and all levers were brushed. Barrel and guide rod were also chromed. The grips are Hogue aluminum grips.

Here is my roommates Sig SAUER, He bought it brand new and ran into some jamming issues. After trying several different kinds of ammunition he sent it in for warranty. The manufacturer said it had been repaired and passed all the test fires. His SIG has been performing great! It is a beautiful hand gun and built tough! It's been almost 2 years since the repair and this baby has been firing flawlessly ever since.

I'm sorry jay, I know it's a Sig, but though it would be more suited in the 1911 thread. I realize now that my comment was inappropriate and I didn't mean any disrespect, for that I apologize.

Just wondering if one of you guys can do me a favor. I was wondering what a p220 would look like with a 10 round magazine, without the sleeve on it. I'm curious to see 1) what it looks like and 2) to see if the holes in the magazine are exposed. Thanks!

Funny! I ordered a P229 9mm BTFO in January (first handgun too), the shop hit me up a couple weeks ago asking if I want to wait or just get a P229 Enhanced Elite that came in. I chose the Elite. I couldn't wait any longer and beaver tail felt pretty good. Plus I think the Elite retails for more than the BTFO and since they offered it at the same price (already discounted, friend hookup) I said sure.

Oh, I got an IOU with my purchase... how cute.

Nice call and great deal on the Elite, congrats! Love the grip and feel on mine, though I hate the Kalifornicated LCI on top and the mag disconnect..

Thanks.

For some reason the LCI doesn't bother me, and this is coming from someone that mostly goes for looks on all things.

Anyone have instructions on how to remove the mag lock?

I noticed this model only comes with one magazine, are additional mags made by Sig expensive? I have also heard that some aftermarket mags do not have the pinkie finger grip at the base, but rather a flush cap.

Welcome to Calguns mjw353!

That is one beautiful Sig you have there, I love the wooden grip, looks great with that steel tone.

I got 3 extra Sig made mags for 120 from my FFL. If you look in a store or at a range they're going to be more expensive.

And I don't know about any aftermarket mags because I don't have any. I'd just go for the Sig mags, they're excellent quality.

If you can find them MecGar mags are good to go, and in fact I've been told they produce many of the mags for Sig. I have some for my Beretta M9A1 and they function flawlessly.

I was excited to see it come into our inventory. Gave my father a call as I was placing it into the display case and he bought it over the phone. We share safes, so I'd say it's partially mine haha I really prefer this grip out of all the P-series pistols. I'm just glad one made it into the safe just in case off-roster stuff goes bye bye!

Also I was told by SIG reps that P220 slides are interchangeable. So all the P220 owners just need P227 frames if they want double stack capacity.
