Post CGSSA Event: SFV Chapter Monthly Shoot 04/25; 7PM-ish @ The Firing Line (Burbank)

Welcome Calgunners,

As you may have seen this month we kicked off an awesome giveaway thanks to our friends at AR500 Armor. Between April and July we'll be collecting entries, and one lucky Calgunner is going to get a full plate carrier, and plates to satisfy all of their Doomsday prepping needs. More details can be found here. Zombie Industries continues to graciously sponsor our monthly shooting events in Burbank and LAX for 2014, and there will be a select number of targets (20 or so) available free of charge at each event throughout the year for your shooting pleasure.

If you have a been shooting the qualification courses for the NRA\Winchester Qualification Program, I am happy to announce that we'll be adding rifle (.22lr), and defensive pistol to the line up of competitions and rankings for 2014. If you're confused, and you have no idea what I am talking about, click the link above and join your fellow Calgunners in working there way through the ranks of the program.

I'll see everyone there...

- RoundEye

It's that time again. Join us at The Firing Line in Burbank (1060 North Lake Street, Burbank) for the NEXT SFV Chapter Monthly Shoot of 2014 which will be held on 04/25/2014 @ 7:00 PM.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - The only permitted rifles must be of handgun caliber (9mm, .40, .357, 5.7mm, etc... are acceptable). ARs/AKs of the 22lr variant are also welcome.
Shotguns - Are NOW permitted provided that you purchase and use range ammunition.
Cost - $10, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on ammo and rentals.
** Firing Line members are free to attend.

REMINDER: - When you're there your actions represent the entire Calguns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

As usual, we'll be able to utilize their training room to eat dinner, hangout, chit-chat, and purchase swag. In addition, as usual they will be reserving an entire side of the range for us, and depending on the turnout we may have to take turns and/or expand into the other range. We'll also be providing Costco pizza at 8:30 PM or so for anyone that is hungry and wants to eat.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Friday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

* * *

* If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact RoundEye for details. *

Just got word we'll have the AR500 Armor plates and carrier available for people to drool over. I'll also be bringing out the Bullseye Sighting System once again for demos.

There was an earthquake? I just figured that was everyone making a B-Line for the pizza!

This makes me wish I had a KSG... I'd easily drop MSRP for one, but not the $1500 or whatever they have been asking for them lately.

I'll wear it to go pick up the pizza if I get to keep it. However, if I don't make it back by 8:40PM, send someone over to get me as I'll most likely be faced own in the parking lot being detained by Some of Burbank's finest.

Could you put me down as a maybe?

Also, as an aside, if I want to get in on the Winchester NRA Marksmanship program, do I have to have taken an NRA basic pistol course, or could I just skip it by qualifying one of the higher ranks? If so, where can I attend a basic pistol course?

Chad - Not only am I going to make it and sit next to you (promise I won't touch), but I'm bringing tupper ware. So: are the Firing Line 9mm reloads OK to put down the G17? Or should I go get something a bit more predicable somewhere first?

I'll be going to this one and may bring in a gun to break in, provided I get the ammo I ordered in time. I'll also bring my G17 to see if I'm cross eyed with it or sights need adjustment. I'm figuring its the former but just want to confirm my ineptitude.

Moving: As far as I know, you can pretty much put anything in your G17 and it will run.

Ok, thanks. I recall some weird statement you made months ago when we were talking reloads and certain types of casing or something-or-other. Anyway, nevermind!

Maybe bring the new HK45c along too....

Ugh... I'm gonna be late tonight. Held up outside DTLA because some inconsiderate person decided to commit suicide on the train tracks.

This is the 2nd day in a row.... The Red Line was closed yesterday for the same thing.

What a great time I had last night. I was tired from a long weeks work and I left the shoot all jazzed and feeling great! Loved the shotgun. Now I want one.
Can't wait to see the pictures.

See you all next month. May 23rd.

AND GotPink was there selling shirts and patches. She will be getting me a nice XL when next we meet.
