Default Least Expensive FFL fee in Los Angeles Area?

I wanted to buy a mosin carbine on buds guns and fully understand that the law requires it to be shipped to an FFL who can DROS it for me. I have checked most stores in Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley and most stores charge at $75 and up. Is their a law that state the minimum fee a store must charge is $75?

I have also been told that Pawn Shops with a valid ATF FFL license can charge around $20. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

You should post a WTB on Calguns. There are a ton of them around and all you would need to pay is the PPT.

Aces Pawn Shop in West Covina charges $25 for the transfer fee plus $25 for the DROS, plus sales tax. And Bud's already has them on file.

Out of state transfers from either individual to FFL, or FFL to FFL, are not governed by the state. Pretty much the FFL can charge whatever they would like to perform the transfer in addition to the $25 DROS state fee.

If the transfer were in person (FTF), the fee is limited to $35.

How far does your "area" extend? Within LA city limits, your choices are pretty thin.

You don't have a lot of choice inside of 30 miles of West LA.

Your only choice may be Addax Tactical (19.8 miles).

Just outside (37.4 miles), you've got EBR Works in Newbury Park.

Riflegear is in Fountain Valley, (45.6 miles).

There may be others, perhaps in Burbank, but those the above three names come up a lot when FFLs are mentioned.

Oh wait, you're not concerned about SSE, are you? You're just looking for a cheap place to transfer?

Hmmm...

Martin B. Retting may be your nearest FFL, but I don't think they'd be your cheapest. I don't have any good hard numbers since I've mostly been looking for places that do SSE, but I recall that some of the lowest prices for transfers was Aces Jewelry & Loan in West Covina and Redfield Armory in Brea. They're kinda outside your 30 mile radius, though.

You may try CAP or So Cal Sharpshooter or a few of the places in Burbank or Glendale. Don't imagine they'll be very cheap, though. Crosshairs USA in Torrance is a nice shop, but they're not cheap.

Might find some more info here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...AOw/edit#gid=0

Rettings will be the most expensive. $100 per item IIRC.
I thought some place in socal did it for $30-40 but they would do up to 3 items or maybe that was just for lowers.
