Default Need a Shotgun "Flashlight" suggestion.

Ok guys,

So I own the Mossberg 500 "Thunder Ranch" which has rails similar to a M4/ar15.

Im looking for a bright "Tactical" flashlight with a mount that will mount onto my

shotgun.

Or can you guys suggest a "Flashlight" alone that is for sure 1 inch in diameter?

Because I found many mounts that will work, but only fit a 1 inch diameter

Flashlight.

I would actually prefer a "CREE" Flashlight with at least 250-300 lumen.

Anyone know of any who has a 25mm diameter that I can fit into a mount?

My budget would probably be around $25-$30

Do yourself a favor, go to batteryjunction.com and pick out a decent light.

Just get some duct-tape and an old, big-@$$ Mag-lite. Go old school!

If worst comes to worst, you can make boxing tape out of it and the Mag-lite works VERY well on zombies (don't ask ).

There's lots of good 300 lumen options <$30 that will hold up to being mounted on the muzzle of a 12ga.

I know you said $30, but I just bought a Streamlight Protac HL on eBay for $60 shipped. Takes 2 CR123a batteries. 600 lumen max, with a 35 lumen low and strobe. You can change the programming so its low then high if you wish. I figured the 35 lumen would be good for home defense when your eyes are not adjusted to light, and then you can click to 600 lumen if you wanna blind the poor bastard.

Replace that forend with this http://www.surefire.com/dsf-500-590-shotgun-forend.html. You can find it much cheaper online.

If you will be buying a light that takes CR123A batteries get a model that only requires one battery.

How is yours holding up? Have you tried firing your shotgun with this thing mounted? How does it do?

here's a hint: it looks like the emoticon at the end of post #9 is being used to indicate sarcasm.

i tend to agree. i wouldn't trust a $30 flashlight to stand up to 12-gauge recoil either.

I went with a Streamlight TRL-1s and this mount:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Total price was about $125. I originally bought the light for a handgun, but it was too big. It's great on my Mossberg 500. Super bright and easy to activate the switch with your left thumb. No need for a pressure switch and the ridiculous coiled cord setup.

You could spend more, but why?
