Default Santa Clara County Meet and Greet Thread *Next Meet TBA*

Hey everyone! crazyScott90 and I are starting up the meet and greets again!

Feel free to bring a friend! Everyone is invited!

Our meetings are now going to be completely informal. Come have a few drinks, chow down some grub, and complain about gun laws with us!

The next meet and greet is TBA but it will be happening sometime before Christmas.

The meeting will be on SATURDAY, TBA at Britannia Arms near Cupertino at TBA.

The address is:

1087 S De Anza Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129

What are these meetings about? none of your business, am i being detained?

crazyScott90 and I are college students that have been working in local politics. We are currently looking to build a stronger community among our local fellow CalGunners and gun owners. At these meets we encourage everyone to make friends, network, and hang out (and complain about gun laws).

Hope to see everyone there!

Looks like I will be able to make this meeting. I'll spread the word at work also. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Just a suggestion... Rather than just posting what your agenda looked like, you should have someone take minutes and actually report more of the details of what was discussed. That way, people who were unable to attend can benefit/learn from your meetings (allowing your meetings to have a growing impact). I don't suggest you give away anything that can be used against us (ie. any strategy discussed that you don't want others to know about), but for example outlining your first bullet item ("Overview on what we are trying to achieve") would be useful so that people can understand the direction this group is heading. As I said...just a suggestion.

Thanks man! I'm meeting with crazyScott90 tonight to take care of what you suggested and to put some more stuff together.

very interested, will watch for next meet. I feel we MUST Support Kevin Jensen, or nothing will change in our county.

We feel the same.

You can help volunteer for Kevin by signing up here.

CrazyScott90 and I have already signed up along with some other calgunners.

Kevin's campaign have already started volunteer work projects on the weekends (door hangers/yard signs/etc.)

I would highly recommend getting involved.

I am bringing 2-3 new people with me on the 8th. One is going to be vital to our cause and has strong positive relationships with the local media.

Bump for April 2nd! We have a meeting agenda posted at the top of the thread.

Please note: Our meeting time is at 6:30pm to compensate for weekday traffic.

See you all there! We have plenty to cover this week.

I will be bringing some Jensen lawn signs with me. The nice folks at Kevin Jensen's campaign office were generous to drop some off at my office on Thursday.

Default Need Info Ammo to Counter Anti's Arguments?

These Meet & Greets were an outcome of Mountain View's Gun Violence Reduction Forum back on Feb 8 of this year. One of the resources I wish I knew more about at that time is GunFacts.info. GunFacts has been around for 15 years, mostly as a downloadable PDF file. Since 2013, the data are now online and easily searchable. If you're like me and you enjoy browsing websites, GunFacts makes it easy because much of their information is categorized. I especially enjoyed the material presented in "Assorted Myths". Myth: 30,000 people are killed with guns every year.

If you find yourself in a gun control forum and need facts to counter the anti's arguments, this is a resource for you.

Guy Smith is the author and editor of the web site. He does meticulous research and digs and digs to get to the source of data (e.g., FBI, DOJ) and only uses attributable, reputable references. This is the quality and kind of information you will want to use in to substantiate your points when dealing with the anti's. Because anti's will tune you out if you present information from the NRA, SAF, GOA, etc., the citations are from government agencies, reputable research organizations, etc.

GunFacts holds an annual fundraiser that ends on Sunday, April 6. You can read about their expansion plans on their website. I strongly encourage you to check out GunFacts.info and consider making a donation, no matter how small. Every bit helps. Help a local brother out -- Guy is here in the Bay Area with us. If you want to "meet" him, he was recently interviewed on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk radio show. Here's a link to the podcast.

See you all at the meeting.

Special thanks to Nick for bringing some Jensen lawn signs; solid idea. I'm sure there will be folks interested in taking one home with them.

My wife and I would love to attend again, but it seems highly unlikely we can make it tonight due to our schedule.

Smile CCW

I'm a LEO a lot of my buddies are good, honest, hard working Americans. I know that Sheriff Smith is not even accepting CCW applications for SCC.

I was wondering if anyone knew where Jensen stands on CCW for people who qualify to possess one?

I know several people who would vote for him if he would start accepting/granting apps for CCW.

Thanks.

He has stated that at a minimum he will comply with the law as written, which at this point Smith is not.

Make sure you and your buddies attend Kevin's public outtings. Talk with him and ask questions. He was a surprise speaker at last nights meeting. Make sure everyone you know is registered to vote. A lot of gun owners and 2A supporters fail to make their voice heard. We have a chance to make a change for the better right now. Welcome to the forum and maybe you and some friends can make the next meeting on April 23 @ 7pm.
