Default Kirk Jorgensen Congress San Diego 52nd district

Don't think this has been mentioned.

Kirk Jorgensen pro 2a? running for congress in San Diego 52nd congressional district.

I didn't see him there but he had a booth at the del mar gun show so I grabbed a flier.

We don't get many pro 2a politicians in San Diego so it was nice to see this.

Default Pro 2A

I never thought of myself as a pro 2A.... just someone who respects our Constitution. It's not negotiable...our Founders made that clear. If someone wants to change the 2A, then go ahead and try to change our Constitution. Otherwise, I would hope all candidates for office (who take an oath on our Constitution) should embrace it.

I'm sorry I missed you at the gun show. I was probably shopping : )

Need to support him for sure, but I live in the 53 district and supporting Joel Marchese.

Its time for a change and 2014 is the time for that change.

I will mention that Mr Jorgesen is running against Scott Peters (D), who is no friend to freedom and liberty. The 52nd district in SD is huge. It starts in Poway and goes all the way into Coronado. His name escapes me at the moment, but another very conservative republican (retired team member) is running against Susan Davis (D) in SD's 53rd district congressional race this year too. She also needs to go.

I sincerely hope my fellow townsmen and women get off their cans and go vote this year.

You must be talking about Larry Wilske. If you do research, every retired military person running against Davis doesn't win. Just because this area is full of military doesn't mean much. Most of the time they can't vote here because they didn't change their voting information to this state.

Joel Marchese is running against Susan Davis. Joel is pro gun also. He's really a nice guy and he's been to my house to get a video I made for him.

Here's his facebook page.

Yes, Wilske. Joel sounds like another great candidate too. In any case...the (R) momentum in SD is underway with the winning of the Mayor race. We need to take the 52nd and 53rd districts back this year from Davis and Peters

Here's something I ran across about Larry Wilske. Read for yourself and make up your own mind about it.

SOCNET.COM

On page 3, post 60 Larry Wilske name comes in to play.

What can Larry Wilske tell us about his involvement in the Courts
Martial of 3 Navy Seals back in 2010 - the ones who captured the mastermind
of the Falujah murders, but were turned over after accusations by the prisoner,
Amed Abed?

This guy reminds me of my X-brother-in-law (Army Capt.), which I didn't like too much.

Carl DeMaio has the endorsement of the local Republican Party and has raised a ton more money. He's pro-Second Amendment and has gone on record saying he'll vote with the NRA "100% of the time".

The race is between DeMaio and Peters. Kirk is a good man, but he's totally inexperienced and just doesn't have the support needed to beat an incumbent like Peters.

Cactus Tim, that's a possibility in the June election, but I hope Kirk is getting more people involved who wouldn't normally vote rather than just trying to convert Demaio voters. That way the pool of voters grows making it harder for Peters.
Remember, the November election will be between the top two vote getters from the June election. The most likely scenario is Demaio vs. Peters, but Demaio needs help. He needs your dime and your time. To volunteer contact his office: (619) 786-8019

DeMaio is in fact leading Kirk 4 to 1 in campaign contributions. DeMaio and his partner are also very savvy businessmen too. I suspect the RNC is investing heavily in him for one very smart reason though.....and you bet it will work perfectly.

Default Congressional Candidates

We need Constitutional conservatives to be our elected representatives. Kirk sounds like a good guy. I am up north in Darryl Issa's district, would love to see Davis and Peters sent elsewhere as in out of office NEVER TO RETURN

Demaio is very much a constitutional conservative. He sent me an email the day the Peruta decision came out expressing his agreement. He stood up for the Mt. Soleday cross memorial. As a San Diego city councilman he reformed the city's pension system.
But...This is a gun blog. So all that's important here is he agrees with us and can win against Peters who completely disagrees with us. That deserves support.

Exactly. This is why the republicans are not a factor any longer. They go tit-for-tat over issues when the larger party suffers.

Will happen again at the national level when the dems run Hilary and the republicans bicker among themselves over issues like gay marriage and immigration.

Their inability to unify will and is their downfall.

The same people who ran Faulconer's campaign efforts (mostly and including the county level GOP) are involved in Demaio's campaign.
80% of Demaio's district is in the city of San Diego and broke for Faulconer.
Don't forget that SD registration heavily favored Democrats, but Faulconer still won.
Demaio has a tough, but winnable race. But not if you sit on the sidelines. Donate money and time. Today.

An afterthought at the bottom of his "other issues" page titled GUN VIOLENCE doesn't exactly scream 2nd Amendment if you ask me. Demaio may not have a target on our backs but he's not going to lift a finger to help either...

Living in SoCal my whole life, I never really considered conceal & carry an option until Peruta. I've owned a handgun for a few years now but just recently submitted my CCW app in SD and I'm eagerly awaiting the court of appeals decision!

Here's a link to Demaio's 'other issues' page

"The President and the Congress must act now to forge a consensus to improve enforcement for background checks and to keep weapons out of the hands of those with serious mental health issues and criminal history." mirrors the stance of the NRA after the CT shooting when the anti-gunners were trying to expand background checks.
Remember to take a look at his district too. He has to represent the voters while sticking to principles. His district is not exactly Texas. But his statement put a stop to those who were screaming to expand a broken and unenforced background check system.
Substance over platitudes.

Mike,

Simply saying that Congress must work with the President ... for a "consensus to improve" anything about our Constitutional Rights sounds nuts to me. Where do you think Eric Holder has found consensus on anything? Do you realize that's who your candidate wants Congress to work with -- right?

I respect the fact politicians like Carl DeMaio try to find middle ground to never upset anyone -- but our Founders didn't see the People's Right to Bear Arms as one of those negotiable areas.

Where I stand on the Second Amendment isn't up for discussion and it's not something I will negotiate on to win an election.

I entered this chat room because I'm a member, I'm a gun owner, and people saw me at the Gun Show. I wanted to say 'thanks'. Please don't use this forum to raise money for your politicians. Thanks.

I'm meeting a lot of good people at the Gun Show in Del Mar today --- I will always protect and defend our Constitutional right to bear arms. California already has some of the most stringent gun laws. We don’t need more. As a combat veteran, I know the importance of keeping a firearm available if required. As a gun owner and father, my top priority and concern is safety and appropriate training – not new laws that infringe on our Constitution.
