Default A2 buttstock with mid length gas system? NTCH?

If I run a A2 buttstock with a mid length gas system do I just use the carbine buffer with the rifle length buffer tube and spring?

I want to see how the rifle length stock feels I might go full rifle on this next lower

Who doesn't shoot NTCH ?
Its kind of hard to do and see through my glasses with a collapsible stock

I have never put my nose on anything but a bow string what do the A1&A2 stock guys do?

No. The gas system has nothing to do with the extension/buffer. If you run and rifle length extension, you run a rifle spring and rifle buffer. If you run a carbine extension, you run a carbine spring and carbine buffer.

I had a standard carbine stock on my ar. But recently switched to the magpul moe rifle stock. I like it a lot better than the collapsible. Also helped balance out my midlength. NTCH wont be an issue one bit.

Unless you have a really long neck NTCH with a rifle stock means having to blade your stance more

No nose to charging handle for me. If you need something to index off of stick something on your stock to act like a kisser button.

IDK about the rest of yall but I can shoot my A2 NTCH, but Im tall.

Gas system doesn't affect buffer as said before. Rifle tube = rifle buffer and spring

I shoot NTCH, and forked over some cash for a Magpul UBR stock. Best stock for NTCH shooters in my opinion. You can change up the length of pull without changing up your cheek weld (which is great on that stock btw). Added bonus is that it's a heavy stock which makes my rifle balance out more rear heavy allowing it to point better going from alert to ready position, and mitigates recoil a bit better in my opinion.

UBR stock also has a bit of storage space for things like a bore snake or mini chem lights.

I did the same thing. I like this set up better than anything else I tried. I am not in a hurry to put any more collapsable stocks on my AR's.

How will NTCH not be a issue is your neck that long? I tried the a2 stock but I didint shoot with it. yesterday I left the colapsable one on so my girl could shoot it.

I don't really understand why the NTCH is so important for accuracy... does shooting with a fixed stock take away the need for this.

Shooting with your nose to the charging handle provides a repeatable place to index your face behind the rear sight. Consistency is the basis of accuracy.

I've got the opposite question, has anyone had issues using a carbine buffer tube and buffer with a rifle length upper?

I've been using such a setup for a while with no issues, just wondering what other peoples experiences are.
