Default A2/A4 style upper

Ive been trying to find a 20" A2 or A4 style upper for a while now. Tried BCM, PSA, del ton, stag and no results of anything in stock. Looking for CL barrel and 1/7 twist (preferably not a heavy barrel)...but unfortunately no matches...can anyone offer suggestions for a upper? Im not even going to expect a bolt carrier or charging handle at this point. Thanks ahead of time!

Are you against building one from parts? I know it takes a bit of work but you'll spend about the same and have the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Not to mention, individual parts are more in stock than assemblies usually.

I been looking for one too for awhile now, but everywhere seems to be either out of stock or way overpriced

I have found some stripped A2 uppers for sale, but never a complete A2 upper with 20" barrel

Good luck to you on the hunt.

I've had a 20" barrel on back order from del ton since January. They just shipped it out two days ago. Check and see if they still have any left.

AR15 / M16 A3 Upper half with 24" inch Stainless Bull barrel and A3 Upper receiver. –This 5.56mm cal barrel is 24" long, and features an 11 degree target crown for muzzle protection. It sports a full length, aluminum alloy handguard. This hand guard is knurled for a positive grip, hardcoat anodized for long life and scratch resistance, and completely free floats the barrel, enhancing accuracy and dissipating heat. It is a two piece design for ease of cleaning. The gas block is machined from aircraft aluminum and hardcoat anodized IAW Mil Spec A8625, Type III, Class II, black per No. 37038, Table IX with nickel acetate seal. This gas block features four M1913 Picatinny rails for easy mounting of accessories such as flashlights, lasers, levels, etc. The barrel is machined from 416 R, re-sulpherized, gun quality stainless steel, and hardened to a Rockwell C of 28 – 32 for extremely long life, heat dissipation, and complete corrosion resistance. The 24” barrel gives a higher velocity, smaller standard deviation in velocity between shots, and greater accuracy than shorter barrels. All external steel parts are manganese phosphate finished for long lasting good looks and corrosion protection. The barrel is a BULL contour ( .950” diameter under the handguard and .935” diameter under the front sight base) for optimum accuracy The barrel is button rifled with 6 grooves, right hand, 1 / 9" twist. The barrel is mounted on a FORGED A3 upper receiver with built in Mil-spec M1913 Picatinny accessory rail, made from certified 7075T6.511 alloy forgings, hardcoat anodized IAW Mil Spec A8625, Type III, Class II, black per No. 37038, Table IX with nickel acetate seal, as per the Mil-spec. The upper features a forward assist and hinged ejection port cover. This upper receiver is complete less bolt/carrier assembly and charging handle. The upper is fully assembled. Drop in your bolt/carrier and charging handle and let her rip! Add $50 for CHROME LINED barrel and chamber, Add a BOLT CARRIER GROUP if you need one. (You must ACTUALLY Order part # AR-CHROME for chrome or AR-PA-8 for the BOLT CARRIER GROUP on your web order form and it must charge you for it, if you do not see it on your form, you have not ordered it and will not receive a chrome lined barrel or BCG. Do NOT just put it in the special instructions).

You looking for something like this?? If so, I think I may just put this puppy up in the marketplace soon. Probably keep the BCG though. Stay tuned.

Full FN M16A2 20" upper. 1x7 twist, chrome bore and chamber.

I just got a 20" upper from BCM. Just put your email down and they'll email you when it comes in stock. They have all the features you want and a pretty good price.

I just ordered one of these, too. It should be here Friday. Sorry, OP, but we must have got the last ones.

If you are willing to consider a 1/9 twist, here is a link to one I had considered purchasing (it is also chrome-lined). They still show having 11 in stock: http://shop.redxarms.com/20-SABRE-DE...20SABREMOE.htm

Whoops, nevermind my recommendation then. Glad I didn't go that route. Just sign up for the Bravo Company e-mail notification for when they are back in stock. Check out JSE Surplus as well. Not much stock either, but they were recommended in another thread about 20" uppers: http://www.jsesurplus.com/20uppers.aspx

Here is a PSA upper that I haven't seen before. It's the premium line, so I guess that means an FN chrome lined barrel:

Thanks, I'll do the same if I run across one. I'm not really in a hurry so I'm willing to hold out for the right now.

Cool, I was a 7011, expeditionary airfield technician/recovery specialist. I wish that base was still around, its not too far from where I live.

Yea, they moved it down to MCAS Miramar. My OIC and a few of the SNCOs were stationed there so we use to talk about it a lot.

+1. Armalite A2/A4 uppers, even their chrome lined uppers, are super accurate, and very very high quality.
