I find them pretty easy to find. The above posters already gave a few good places to find. The main thing I'm waiting on is the prices to drop. I'm shopping for a 14.5" but I don't feel like spending like $400. Kind of leaning towards the noveske on midway because it comes with low pro gas block and gas tube.

This is exactly what i was thinking. I was thinking about buying a melonited barrel from one of the links provided and having randall chop it down to 14.5 and thread it

I'd suggest a pistol length gas system if going 14.5". I have one of the Rainier select 14.5" barrels with carbine gas, and it barely runs with supersonic ammo. The bolt will cycle and feed the next round, but won't hold back on the last shot. Subs only push it back about an inch or two. I may end up opening up the gas port on this one if more load development doesn't solve the problem.

I'm trying to figure out what barrel length I need to buy to get a 16.25" OAL with a KX3 pinned and welded on. I think 14.5" would be too long, but 12.5" would be too short. Haven't seen any sizes in-between. Has anyone P&Wd a barrel with a KX3? How long is the 5/8-24 threaded portion?

Try AA 1680 and AA2015.

It takes a 13.7" long barrel to reach 16" with a perm attached KX3.

Thanks!
Is that with or without the internals removed from the KX3? Just to be on the safe side, you know.

With the internals of the KX3 removed.
If you weld the internals into the KX3 body, you can go 0.2" shorter.
