Default How Much Is Too Much?

http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l180...27838764_1.jpg

I bided on this stock from ebay for $42.00. There was 7min left on the bid so I asked my wife to keep an eye on it for me for the remainder of the time while I did something. I came back to find out that she ended up outbidding another bidder for $70. I was like WHAT happened? It was just $42.00. It has been customized to fit a .920 barrel that I have. Still worth it or not?

This is a stained Ruger 10/22 stock made to fit the. 920 heavy/bull barrels.

Why are you asking?
Don't you have to buy it no matter what now?

That's what I thought too. Hopefully after it's put together it will look really nice to help the overage. Oh well, can't cry over spilled milk.

sometimes, the effort made by a loved one to please you can't be measured in dollars. i'd say you got a good deal.

So, you're saying you had 7 minutes on your auction, but just had to hand it off to your wife and you are now concerned that you paid too much?

They do have a handy "maximum bid" feature on e-bay, don't they?

if you didn't get into a fight with the wife over the whole "overbidding" thing you did real good.

Your wife knew you wanted it and absent instructions from you to the contrary, spent what ever it took to insure you won. I say overpaid or not (you did though) your wife is a keeper.

Kudos to your wife! She did what she thought would make you happy! Act like you are or else there will be no next time!

I think you got a FANTASTIC DEAL. And you didn't do to bad on the stock either.

Yeah...I'm a happy camper with both wifey and stock. Just didn't realize that it could even possibly nearly double in price within 7min. Either way it is for a great cause. Bought it for an incentive to try and get my daughter to start an interest in going to the range with me. Figured she would like the color of the stained wood and a plus because I could put a bull barrel on it.

Agreed. If this is the worst thing that happens to you this month, it's a great month, yes?
