They are not a popular choice, but I got the Burris Tactical for $55. I've been happy with them.

I use the Leupold STD mounting system on a Remington 700V, a 700ADL, and a Winchester M70. They are top quality at a reasonable price. Give them a look. http://www.leupold.com/hunting-shoot...nting-systems/

I totally forgot bolt action needs base too

Ive found weaver 1pc mount for $35@midway

and can spend rest on rings still .. those rings u guys recommended , I think staying under 100 bucks is still possible for base and rings

This is probably going to be the cheapest solution for you until you get enough $ saved up for the good stuff. Do some research to make sure your objective bell will clear your scope with these.

There are plenty of used Seekins rings to be had for under $100.

TPS doesn't even make an option (that I've seen) that is over $100.

Don't cheap out.

You are really limiting yourself at that price point.

TPS is the least expensive of the very good quality gear. Spend a little more and get a TPS aluminum base and rings that will last you the life of the rifle.

You want the lowest rings possible that still allow the objective bell of the scope to clear the barrel.

This. The tactical rings re great, but if you're not switching them out, the Leupold std base and rings are rock solid -- and t hey have 30mm rings for it and QDs as well.

If you don't get quality rings or lap cheap rings, you put stress on the scope.

TPS are around $70 and are equal quality to rings costing twice as much.

Just spend a little more $$. My vote is for Seekins, all of their stuff rocks! I have 3 sets of their 34mm (6/4) rings on 3 of my bolt action rifles, couldnt be happier.
