Default CaPRC Centerfire Match at Angeles - January 26, 2014

The California Precision Rifle Club is proud to announce their next centerfire match will be Sunday January 26th at the Angeles Ranges.
For details about the Angeles Ranges, see their website: http://www.angelesranges.com

Signups start at 7:00am and shooting should start at 8:15am when the line goes hot.
Please arrive at the left side of the Angeles rifle range no later than 7:30am to sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers.
Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly.

Match fee is $20 for Caprc members or $30 for non members.
The match fee also includes use of the range after the match is completed.
We usually finish by 1pm.
Bring 70 rounds of match grade ammo.

Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 600yds.
Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised postions.

Bring a backpack to shoot off of for stages that don't allow a bipod.

This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rifles from 223 up through 308.
A velocity limit of 3100 fps will be in effect to reduce damage to club-owned steel targets.
Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended.
Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed.

Line helper RSVP's will be accepted anytime.
CaPRC member RSVP's will be accepted anytime.
Non-member RSVP's will be accepted after 12noon Wednesday January 15th.

At the appropriate time, you can RSVP here:

If you want to hit all the targets, it is very helpful.

Video? Just come to the match and shoot it and you can see for yourself. You already have a rifle. I saw this your YouTube channel:

There's nothing wrong with that rifle. It's more than enough to shoot the match with.

As Randall said, match ammunition helps. However, it is not a requirement to shoot the match. Yes, equipment matters. But it matters very little compared to skill level. Just bring what you have. It will be enough.

Probably the number one hurdle for people to shoot the matches is equipment. But it shouldn't be. Whatever you have already will probably be enough.

This shooter shoots very well with like a $400 scope:

Here's Randall with some extruded $10 Millett scope rings that come free with every fakedot:

He won the match that day.

Savage Axis with cheapo scope:

Really, does it get any more beater than a Savage Axis? He did just fine.

I'm not saying equipment doesn't matter. It matters all right. But don't get all wound up about it. Shooting skill matters far more than equipment does. Just bring what you have and shoot the match.

No ammo.

As soon as I find some fair priced 168's I'll be out there. I have the scope for my M110 on the way all that's needed is the mount and ammo. Just no luck tracking down 168 Amax's and primers.

I was surfing today and ran across this pic:

Some will laugh at that, but I don't. I actually dig it. He brought what he had.

He had an SPS Varmint or whatever that rifle is, so he brought it out to the match and shot it. He wasn't saving up for his $1200 Mk69 Mod23 CBR stock before he thought the rifle was worthy of shooting. He had a sleeping bag, so he brought that out to the match as well. He didn't wait until he could save up for his super duper tactical tan sealy posturpedic Gen2XR tactical shooting mat that costs $200. The sleeping bag isn't ideal, but it works well enough.

Don't let equipment stop you from shooting our club's matches. Just RSVP for the match and bring what you have.
