If I mod my permit do I still have to renew it in march when its due? Does the mod renew it automatically?

Modification appointments simply modify the existing permit.

You still have to renew your permit every two years.

If your renewal is in March, I would wait and qualify with the additions at that time.

Thats awesome! Although they aren't showing any dates available...
If I wish to add a firearm to ccw, a qualification cert is required correct? Are most shops that offer ccw courses happy to accommodate this quick qualification?

Yes you need a qual for that new pistol to be added. Depends on the instructor, but most good ones will be able ro slide tou in fairly easy to doa quick qual.

This was my experience as well. After spending money on new gun qualifications, new holsters, a money order, as well as taking time off work to actually make the appointment, I'm told to go home. All because the mod appointment I picked was in January....

I will be writing to Sheriff Jones about this one. All this trouble to retype my permit? Absolutely ridiculous.

It is supposed to open in February. . I see no dates available as of a bit ago. Theybsay they will be there, but its bullsht that they are letting folks make the time to get there just to tell us at the window..sorry folks the park is closed, the moose out front should of told you.

I also bought a new hplster for the g19 ect ect
...im not worried about it as I will get it on permit.

Is there a problem having a non-roster handgun (Ruger LC9) on my CCW?

I got an email from SSO confirming none in January. Only February appointments. Wonder if this is strictly a one month deal.

Same for me. I got everything together, qualified, money order, time off work, etc. got down there Monday and was told "Sorry. Computer glitch. Try again in February". Yea it sucks, but life is full of frustrations. I'm just glad I live in a county where I can get my permit and carry.

And February is booked. ..so maybe we cannget into March...

It would be appropriate for them to make a time for the ones they screwed in January.

I emailed too to confirm that my appointment is to add a weapon to my existing permit. They wrote back saying "Yes."
Question: Do I also need to have proof of current address docs (e.g. SMUD bill) if I'm not changing my addres, just adding a weapon?

If you're modifying your permit, you need to bring two forms of proof of residency.

If you are trying to qual a new gun for a modification I suggest asking for Jake at sacramento gun club. Flexible schedule, reasonable price, and a nice guy.

i'm going to let this go:

This is to confirm that your appointment with the SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
for Concealed Weapons Permit Address Modification has been scheduled for 2/24/2015 300 PM.

Our Address:
2101 Hurley Way
Sacramento, CA 95825

my renewal is up soon anyway so i'm just going to do it then and save a few bux.

up for grabs
