Default Glock 34 and Limited 10

I was thinking taking my Glock 34 and stippling it and getting a trigger kit....it already had sights from GlockWorks. Curious, knowing it'll move me out of Production/SSP to Limited...Limited10/ESP? Is that right? Yes I kno it'll move me to minor, which Im gonna be shooting local matches anyway.

Oh and other than limited 10 being 10 round limit, what other differences are there between L10 and Limited?

Here's the link for current USPSA rules

http://www.uspsa.org/document_librar...sProof3web.pdf

Check out appendix D2, D3 and D4 for division differences

Lastly, see Appendix E4 for stippling question

Once you learn about it, you will see it will not necessarily put you in L10

If in So cal

And, with the proper trigger kit, you can maintain production status

You are mixing USPSA and IDPA divisions which have nothing to do with each other. So for USPSA, you could run your G34 in Limited with up to 140mm magazine extensions (22-23 rounds), but you will be scored minor, same for Limited 10 but with only 10 rounds, so you would be better off to stay in Production with it's minor only scoring. You don't need a magic trigger to get started, in fact, I don't recommed it because they have to be precisely adjusted. Best thing you can do is to jump in and start shooting USPSA Production or IDPA SSP before making a bunch of gun mods. There is much, much more to the game than magic aftermarket stuff.

Thank you HighLander51, I have shot an IDPA match and a couple of USPSA matches. I do know they both are 2 different animals, but I will be shooting both leagues so I wanted to get as close to whatever class Id be in. I have a Talon textured grip on my Glock 34 now and noticed it started to peel off and started to think of stippling. Then I thought reading somewhere would move me to Limited in USPSA, or so I thought I read it right.Gun fu chimed in and sent me to a link for the rulebook for USPSA. I did not know you could stipple it and stay within production. I was merely thinking if I stippled it, it would move me, hence thinking if I was gonna move to Limited or if I was shooting IDPA, ESP, I FIGURED I would do a trigger kit too.

But as you said yes it would move me to minor shooting USPSA. So far my plans are to just shoot local matches.

Yes indeed!

I went with the Silicon Carbide route on my production 92FS.. Frontstrap and backstrap and had a friend stipple the grips...

Good deal! Welcome to the addiction. Hit me up anytime...
