I can pocket carry my nano just fine TYVM.

Its the same size as a Glock 26.

I spent $375 on my Beretta Nano, which is my EDC and can fit in a pocket. Top quality for the genre. There's no way a single stack 9mm Glock is going to be less expensive. I also personally do not believe it would be better quality, either. I'm not brand-sensitive and it's the only Beretta I own. I have my Glocks also. I've shot multiple hundreds of rounds through the Nano -- +P, steel, various hollow points, reloads, you name it -- without one single stoppage of any sort. Fit and finish, size, weight, accuracy... all top notch. It'll run +P all day every day and handle it without issue. So, I'd have to say that you can get a good quality low cost 9mm single stack pocket gun. Assuming $375 falls into the low cost category. Not sure on that, but it certainly isn't in the $550 to $900 of Kahr, Sig, Kimber, etc... and what do you think the Glock would be? $519?

With the CA roster and microstamping, there will not be anything new added to the roster for a very, very long time (if ever).
Its likely we are going to get the micro-stamping and roster overturned as it is essentially a "handgun ban".

When I first heard the rumor I was hoping for something LCP sized, but from some of the transposed images out there it looks slightly taller than a 26. I guess I'll have to order one and see for myself

I'm definitely intrigued. I'd like to see one when they're released...now where can I find an off-roster G42? Will someone be doing SSEs?

If in 380, it's already gonna face stiff competition from all the other pocket pistols.

Yup. Both will sell like hotcakes. Calgunners alone would buy a few hundred at least.

Doesn't matter.....

It'll get shown at the SHOT show, and then released in a small batch a month or so later and those will only go to high volume Glock dealers and will of course be all pre-sold. Unless you're LEO and have a good relationship with one of those retailers, you won't get one. Then it'll be in high demand and on back order and maybe some more will finally get distributed to retailers in the Fall, but at an inflated price. If you're willing to pay for the marked up handgun and SSE it, then you can have it before CA gets rid of SSE's in 2015 (most likely). Otherwise, once prices start to come down, it'll then be past 1/1/15 and you won't be able to get it in CA except by PPT, which will probably cost a lot more anyways.

Just saying from what we've seen with other 'highly anticipated single stack pocket pistols' lately

If its slimmer than a G19 then I'd probably sell mine and get this.

Single stack 9mm and 45 would sell like crazy!

But if they did it right and it's a 9mm, giddy up I want one. I have been looking for something to replace my PM9 pocket gun for 5 years. There is nothing in 9 small enough or reliable enough to do that yet. Just hoping the Glock is more PM9 size and less Shield size. PM9 is the only one really small enough for front pocket carry.
I pocket carry my sig 938 everyday.. I personally hope they put a manual safety on the 42 for pocket carry..

A 9mm single stack Glock is worth looking at.

What I would like to see is a Sig 239 in .45acp!

Gayer then a football bat.

Now when I say "you can't go wrong with a glock" ill have to add "except the model 42".

This gun has no purpose. But this gun will be a big seller with guys who like buying guns. Not so much with people who see guns as a tool. This gun is the equivalent of a 9v cordless drill. WHY...

Probably Glock's plan is to release this to get the buzz going, and then do the same size frame with a single stack 9mm for SHOT 2015.

Obviously just a little too late

looks cool, but....
the S&W shield is the same width, .2" longer, .5" taller, and comes in 9mm and .40
they will sell. IMHO they should of gone smaller

They already make the 25 and the 28.

If they are going to make another 380 model, why reinvent the wheel?

I dont see it selling very well.

Very late and with much competition against springfields XD-S in both .45 and 9mm.
We aslo have the P238 from sig (my brother had one, loved it)

The only people i see buying it are the glock fanboys.

Kahr p380 is thinner and shorter. Why would this sell?

Maybe for those that have a glock as duty or daily carry and want a backup with the same trigger.

I like this quote here. Because Ruger did do well, and still does well with the LCP. But that's because, even though it's difficult to hold and shoot, people are willing to make it work because of it's size. It's way smaller than a LC9, which is pretty much the same dimensions as a Shield, XDS, CW9/PM9, and now the G42.

That being said, the LC380 (which just happens to be about the same size as the single stack 9's above) isn't a hot seller like the LCP is. The LC380 is pretty much like what the Glock 42 is going to be.... a larger frame (same size as a single stack 9) .380 caliber handgun. A niche in the market that, IMO, doesn't need to be filled.

The Width of the G42 is .94". I Prefer a P-64 @ 0.84".
Same amount of bullets, but a wider bullet and more powerful.
