Default Aftermarket Stock Legality

Does having a stock with a hole that allows you to wrap your thumb around the grip make it a pistol grip such as the picture attached? Does that even matter if the rifle is bolt action?

Doesn't matter on a bolt action rifle. Only an issue on a semiauto.

Thought it was obvious enough since we're in the centerfire rifle forum, but fair enough after that malarkey over mag capacities.

Oh, that's right.
People never ever ever post topics in the wrong subforums...

Thank you all for the replies. I recently built an AR-15 so my mind was fresh for all the California limitations. I'm looking into a new stock for my bolt action 243 and it seems like there's no problem!
