Default Lancaster, CA gun show Nov 23-24

First time in the 2 years living here I have seen one at the antelope valley fairgrounds . Any members from the desert going? I think I'm going Sunday. Let's fill this one up maybe we will have more of them.

I'll be going. An AV gun show is long overdue.

I went to the south Las Vegas gun show on Saturday. If the Lancaster show is anything like that one, expect lots of ammo but at Big5 prices.

Looks like I can make it.
Gonna drop a line to the local NRA council and see if they still need volunteers for the booth Sun Afternoon.

I believe parking is free anyways. I could be wrong though.
In an odd concurrance the rabbit show that my duaghter used to show at is at the fairgrounds the same weekend.

I'll be working the NRA booth Sat. afternoon.

Why?
Why avoid a local show that helps the community at large, and the gun community specifically?

Since the City of Glendale opposed any gun show in their city, The AV show with a good turnout could continue. Prices are always a little escalated by vendors, but the fact that AV should have free parking, (Like Victorville), entry should also be around $9. Costa Mesa charges parking & I belive $16 for entry. And the prices's by vendor do go up. Example: Ammo cans - 50cal at VV, about $10 to $15 in good shape, Costa Mesa, min $15+ (Fair shape). Either way, distance will be the determining factor. I'll be their on Sunday.

I was first in line this morning. I got some awesome deals. I thought I was arriving late, I was expecting people to be in line at 5 or 6 am. I ended up being the first customer of LAX and surefire. I was going to buy from archangel, but surefire ended up being cheaper with the QTY i bought. I laughed at LAX wanting over $.30/rd for 115gn 9mm reloads though.

I ended up raping the surefire booth, the guy hooked me up pretty good.

Bought a ton of stuff from voodoo tactical too.

I got out of there at about 10am when it became a madhouse. When I looked when I walked out the line was probably 300-400 yards long.

I went this morning. I remember they used to have these at the old fairgrounds a long time ago. I was a kid though and not interested in guns at the time (we're talking like 19 years ago) but this is different than I remember. There were a LOT of people there. 300-400 yds for the line is about right. I noticed a lot of folks were like me and barely glancing at AR stuff. The AKs drew a lot of attention though. I was annoyed at the lack of LR308 mags. One kid tried to sell me a used DPMS brand 10-rounder for 30 bucks! Yeouch. And that was the only one I found in the whole place, too. Ahh well. That's why the internet gets most of my business.

I didn't find anything that was a better deal than what I could buy online or at my LGS (High Desert Sporting Arms) so I didn't buy anything. But it was really cool to see so many people in my town(s) interested in guns and gun stuff.

If you're a tin foil hatter, it's a great place to pick up ammo for cash. Just not for what you could score it for online.

Barter. You'll be surprised how much the people are willing to drop prices, especially when you bring cash.

I bought a case of PMC .45 ACP for $300 (1000rds). You cant beat that. I also bought a case of .17HMR for $75(500rds)

But, with that said I got these prices because we dropped about $4,000 with just one ammo vendor.

I wasn't to impressed with the prices on most of the tables. I found much better deals here on the CGN market place ;-)
Some guy selling a few C&R rifles had me laughing when he tried talking me into buying one of his Mosin Nagants for $700+....WTH!
Other then that it was a nice turn out of gun owners.

Oh yeah, because nobody mentioned it yet, parking was $5.00 per car, admission was $10.00 per person.
