Default VC Defense

I'm seriously looking at building an AR10 and found a stripped lower from VC Defense. Has anyone here had any experience with their products?

http://www.vcdefense.com/308-billet-lower-receiver-100/

It doesn't state what material it is made from, so I contacted them and found out it's 6061-T6, all my other builds have been from 7075. Is this something I need to be concerned about? The gun won't see any really hard use, perhaps a training day or 2.

Being north of 60 has definite advantages: I was able to do all my stupid stuff before video cameras, smartphones, utube, and the internet.

I went out and DROS'd one last Saturday. I live close enough to VC Defense that I can just drive out there. I've only built 4 other AR15 lowers so far so I'm not an expert by any means, but they appear very well made. This will be my 1st 308 AR.

Did you buy it direct and Dros it with them? Or did you have to have it sent to a different FFL???

Bought it direct from VC and had it DROS'd there. Saves transfer & shipping costs that way. You are going to have to pay Ca taxes one way or another. If you are in Somis, you are closer to him than I am. He has just about anything AR related in stock.
