Default New Glock models (G41 & G42) rumored to be unveiled at next SHOT show

Emphasis here should be on rumored so take it as that but it's still fun to speculate:
http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/show....php?t=1505841

My guess would be .22 and a single stack 9mm but others are speculating a tactical .45.

Regardless if true or not we won't be able to get them because they won't have microstamping technology

It's all rumors.

IMO... Glock 40 = full size .22LR

It looks like the OP on GLOCKTalk already confirmed that it's a Tactical .45 similar to the G34/35 currently on the market, and a Single Stack .380.

Of course they won't. That would require glock to include a magazine disconnect and loaded chamber indicator. The gen 4 versions weren't on the roster, no reason to expect new models to be either.

.380 and .22LR is my understanding... I know there is a .380 already but I think this will be a different size...

surprised? every single pistol that's released from here until eternity is in this category until CA voters get a dose of common sense and repleal the roster. And if SSE goes away, this and all future pistols will be virtually impossible to get. the dark times will descend and i'd really like a single stack glock .380 too, dangit

Oh brother...sorry Glock, you're about three years late to the pocket .380 party. Everyone that wants a 380 already has one by now.

IMHO Glocks are the best pistols around, but that company seems a little behind the curve when it comes to marketplace trends.

The 9mm pocket pistols are all the rage now. Wake up Glock and catch up.

It will probably be the Glock 1911 and the Carbine that they have been working for the past couple of years. I was talking to the head of GSSF at the Richmond match, and he said that both should actually be released in the next two weeks.

hehe Glock “Fo-Tay” = .22LR & Glock 22 = .40SW. That would be something.

Kinda off topic
Whats the benefits on single stacked handguns? Thinner grip, better for conceal?

And would microstamping effect reloads at all?

mostly single stack benefit is the thinner grip, but less capacity.

You guys should have read the whole thread, there'd be a lot less rumormongering...

From Post #58 of the thread in question:

Quote:
I received an updated e-mail. No offense taken.

"The new models from Glock are: Model 41 which is a PracticalTactical .45. The Model 42 is a single stack .380. We can't orderthem yet -we have to wait for Glock to give us the green light. We shouldorder both with a larger number of the 42's."

No mention of the Glock 40. Kinda makes you think how accurate the rest (41 & 42) of it is.

Also rumor is the Practical/Tactical .45 is in .45GAP.

What’s a “practical-tactical” glock in .45? a 5” Glock 21 with a rail?

No, that's the marketing term for the competition-focused G34/G35. Generally means a longer barrel/slide and perhaps a lighter trigger pull.

I'm kind of surprised that they haven't released a slimline 9mm and/or .40. I've long heard from insiders that there is an "it wasn't conceived in Austria" mentality on why new designs haven't been introduced with any regularity. But with the huge success of the XDs and M&P Shield (as well as other slimline 9mm models), you'd think that Glock would recognize the amount of money to be made. I'm sorry that it appears that they are going .380 before doing it with valid caliber, but at least a long-slide .45 would be welcome.

I had become convinced that the company that makes my favorite pistols is either stubborn, lazy, or stupid with their lack of innovation over the last decade. Based on your comment, I guess it would have to be stubborn.

I hope to heck that Glock does not make the mistake of issuing a Practical/Tactical in .45 GAP. I'd think that the less than stellar sales of their current GAP offerings would be a clue. Yeah, I know, I know... I'm trying to introduce common sense into firearms sales and marketing and Herr Glock has a special punishment just for me...

But I'd consider paying good money for a Practical/Tactical in .45 ACP.

I'd snatch up a single stack 9mm in a heartbeat. Especially since my XDs is worthless until Springfield figures out what the hell they're going to do.

A single stack 9mm would sell very well for Glock.

They may have back burnered it after some teething issues with the single stack .45
