I think these optics have seen some stuff! I got my Aimpoint today and couldn't be happier. Thought there was a scratch/scuff on the front lens, but it ended up wiping off with a microfiber lens cleaning towel. As a bonus mine is a pretty complete FDE - and I happen to know an FDE LE6920 which will now be getting an Aimpoint!

Edit: It is just SO right-

Just got the optic in this afternoon, so I haven't been able to take this to the range yet. With the height of the mount I was thinking that it would be lower 1/3 co-witness. But looking at things, it might be an absolute co-witness. The dot height as received was about right, and I just needed to move it over to the left a little bit to have it pretty much line up with the top of the front blade. I took some pics, but either there is a trick to doing this, or I just suck. I am attaching the "best" one (it is looking through the rear BUIS, and the optic):

I got mine and it looks great but the mount thumb screw is frozen solid so it can't be mounted on my rail. Looking at all the screws on the mount I swear mine was exposed to heavy salt spray. Looks like all my frozen reels. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they can do. I did look up the mount company wilcox and it's a 120$ mount with a lifetime warranty so I guess I could always go that route if I have to. I'll try and figure out how to post some pics but I already cleaned it up the best I could.

It's probable sand. Mine had a ton of fine tan sand under the mount. Did you try penetrating oil? I went and read the Wilcox page. It says lifetime warranty. That would be a better way to go if they will replace it. You would get a new $126 mount for a $150 item.

Got some wd40 sitting on it now. It's not sand. It was salt. Completely white fine crystals and when sprayed fully dissolved. I've got 10 beers left so I'm not giving up yet.

Somehow they must have gotten it off the last rifle, just drop it in a gallon of old motor oil and you can't go wrong.

Just an FYI, the first picture of your aimpoint with the silver dot in the middle of the rear of the aimpoint is where the military refilled the gasses. So, all in all, your aimpoint was already serviced by the military with new gasses I don't like how they refilled the gasses, but you know what? it works! lol

Mine will show up on 10-11-13 and I'll show you guys my aimpoint(s) *very big grin while I type this last sentence.*

I received my eotech and aimpoint yesterday.

The aimpoint is great, only a few minor scuffs. It had done mud and dirt buildup, but a quick wipe down with rubbing alcohol was all that was needed. Mounted it on a QRP and attached lens covers that I had leftover from my PRO, and it's good to go. I almost prefer it to my PRO for some reason, but probably just because it's a new toy.

The Eotech, unfortunately has issues with the reticle. It does not 'remember' the last settings, so turns on very dim. To make things worse, the reticle gets extremely dim in certain areas of the glass, namely right in the middle.

I emailed them last night, and received an electronic return label this morning. Best CS experience I've ever had.

Assuming they fix or replace it, I'm going to give it a try, but so far, I'm not a fan of eotechs (not talking about the issues, just prefer aimpoint so far), so this might be going up for sale soon.

Forgot to take pics on the aimpoint because I was so wrapped up in the Eotech issues, but I'll take and post pics later.

100 more EOtech's just came in stock.

http://www.law-guns.com/usedeotech55...darkearth.aspx

ETA: Note that these don't say anything about looking like they were never mounted. I'm assuming the condition of these will not be as nice as the ones Rangemaster posted pictures of previously.

I wanted an aimpoint because of the A2 upper I have. I called them to ask when they might get more aimpoints. They said they didn't think they were getting anymore. Half price for an eotech is a good deal. Most have been painted and can be cleaned up.
